Are You Stupid and Vapid?

If you are Stupid and Vapid, then you should vote for Barack Obama in 2012!

I honestly couldn’t believe this wasn’t a parody ad. Seriously, people making dumb thoughtless comments, devoid of not only any attempt at a selling point, but also the wild-eyed religious fervor we got so used to in the 2008 campaign.

There’s a part of me that’s very surprised that he is even bothering to run. Its not like he really has much interest in being the president. He seems to just like the title and the fame, and is perfectly willing to let his staff and congress do all the Presidentin’ for him.

Gonna be a tough run of ‘ol Barry. Still with the Republican Retards lining up in the wings, he might have an easy run no matter how badly he runs it.

I liked how “Glady”‘s son/brother/boyfriend couldn’t put down the pink Nintendo DS for 30 seconds for the commercial photoshoot.

    *fail*

Hey, isn’t turning Jersey Shore off for 10mins sacrifice enugh?

Its not so much of a fail, as it shows that electing President Obama is more of an activity like being the first kid on your block to have the latest iWidget, than interviewing and hiring an executive officer for your whole country.

Like the title says, stupid and vapid.

I think you just answered the question as to why he’s running. Obama is a narcissist.

    • Weerd Beard says:

Yep that’s the part of me that isn’t surprised, the part that knows Obama will run because he doesn’t want to admit somebody would be a better President then he is.

Loved the one who basically said “There is still so much on the table to be done”.

So your reason for voting for Obama again is that he hasn’t been able to get stuff done?????

I mean as a Conservative, I might vote for him for that reason — I don’t think he’s gotten much done and don’t think he can get much done. But didn’t the Democrats vote for him because he was going to do so much?

Sadly, you are probably right! I’d like to think that the Libertarian Party might step up and fill the void, but just the thought of that almost makes milk come out of my nose–despite the fact that I’m miles away from a glass of milk!

    • Weerd Beard says:

Yeah for any party to make moves into major office they need lots of support in lower positions. You won’t see Libertarian Legislators without libertarian office holders in their home state, and you won’t see a Libertarian President without a Legislature peppered with (L)s.

Also doesn’t help much that the biggest Libertarians in American Politics …are Republicans.

      • Alpheus says:

One of my biggest frustrations with the Libertarian Party in Utah is that I have the sense that they have absolutely no local ambitions. State Legislature, Governor? Sure, they sometimes have candidates for those positions. National offices, too. But Mayor? City Council? County Commissioner? Crickets!

I can’t speak for other states, except for New York, but I have the feeling that it’s the same there, too.

The funny thing is that Libertarianism is needed as much, if not more, on a local level. When I attended a Republican Caucus last year, one person there was angry with what the city had done with certain ordinances. “This is not a Home Owner’s Association!” he said. And he’s right!

And you’re certainly right that Libertarians cannot win the Presidency without the supporting structure. While Libertarians run for Congress, I also have the impression that Libertarians are confident, any day, that they’ll just win the Presidency, and then everything will be ok.

I don’t mind that the most influential Libertarians are Republicans. I just wish that Libertarians would do a better job of infiltrating one (or both) of the parties. Perhaps, if Libertarians understood local politics better, they’d even have a chance, however small, of pulling that off!

“Plus, he got a job?”… Well, as long he has a job, that’s all that matters.

    • Weerd Beard says:

It’s also his first job! Remember how nervous you were on your first job? And you were probably a teenager, not a 40-something!

That’s a serious old dog attempting to learn some difficult tricks.
