So I have been talking with Jeff Katz of the Jeff Katz Show (A great morning drive show in a city where the Morning drive is Split between Don Imus, and Convicted Felon Tom Finneran, but even against those jerks he’s top notch, so don’t think I’m damning with faint praise. Its the morning drive news radio that keeps this blog rolling, and I thank Jeff for his great show, and I also thank Jeff and his staff for sending me the Larry Pratt Interview that I first talked about here.

You should listen to the whole thing, but if you must, skip to the 4:00 mark to hear him admonish the Congresswoman who is currently recovering in the hospital for not supporting the 2nd Amendment enough, and supporting Nancy Pelosi. At 4:50 he actually states the party affiliation of the shooting victims as if that is the least bit relevant.
I’m sorry Larry, but from all I can gather you are a 2nd Amendment supporter second, and a Democrat hater first. While I myself am a Republican I strongly stand that the 2nd Amendment (as well as the rest of the Bill of Rights) are NON PARTISAN issues. On top of all of that, you showed a level of insensitivity that I found quite repulsive.
Listen to the interview, then re-read my call for everybody to drop their GOA Membership. They are not an organization that people who respect the 2nd Amendment should support.

Of course, all of this would matter a great deal more if the GOA mattered… at all. 😉
Snark aside, Pratt has shown his true colors over this incident, and I dare say he will lose a great deal of support over it. Sadly, those zealots out there who would defend him come hell or high water will just sink further into that rut… though I cannot say as though that is a great loss either.

Supporting Pelosi… What about that Kos post where the doofus lamented, “My CongressWOMAN (Giffords) voted against Nancy Pelosi! And is now DEAD to me!”? She seemed to support the 2nd Amendment – but insufficiently? The fact that as a Democrat she supported it at all might be something to be grateful for. Me: not a GOA member. All they do is send me letters asking for money or the sky will fall.

I live damn far from Arizona, and I had never heard of Congresswoman Giffords. So I don’t know her Politics at all. From what I hear she was a fairly centrist “Blue Dog” Democrat who was good on the 2A.
Larry Pratt is the only person who I’ve heard say anything to the contrary, and said so heartlessly leads me to declare this political hackery, and blood dancing.
Oh give it a rest. Just because Pratt says something you disagree with it is time to dump GOA? I don’t agree with everything I hear here either but I come back because it is still worthwhile. Infighting is just what the anti-gun dweebs want.
Your 2nd Amendment rights are better served with many other groups than they are with GOA .
If you don’t like in-fighting why would you support a group that’s central platform is bashing groups like the NRA, and opposing pro-gun candidates because they are Democrats?
Name one piece of legislation originally fielded, supported, and endorsed by the GOA that made it into any government’s books. Name one court case the GOA brought before a bench that won.
That is why your money is significantly better spent on other organizations, like the Second Amendment Foundation.
And, as Weer’d pointed out, GOA is about the freaking official drama llama of in-fighting…
I suspect Wildad is just a one-off.
People tend not to like to debate the indefensible…
