“Gun Death” How Laws REALLY Work

One bit of magical thinking is that by making guns illegal it will eliminate gun crime. Any rational person knows this isn’t true.

The alleged driver charged in a fatal road-rage crash in Richmond does not have a valid driver’s license and has not had one since his North Carolina license was suspended in 2003, according to the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles.

North Carolina court records also show that Christopher Sessoms, of Wake County, N.C., has convictions since 1998 on several charges, including driving with a revoked license, driving while intoxicated, possession of an open container of alcohol in the passenger area of a vehicle, resisting a public officer and several counts of trespassing….Authorities took the suspects into custody after Dees pulled up to their home driving the red pickup truck that authorities say was involved in the fatal crash on Sept. 22. Law enforcement officials said Dees also was charged with trafficking in opiates after they found 82 Oxycontin pills in her bra.

Odd that all those laws were broken, but they didn’t seem to prevent these bad things from happening. You see laws only work for punishing the guilty, and it appears that if the courts do their job these dangerous beasts will disappear for a good while.

Yeah there were people killed…but it was a car, not a gun. Only “Gun Death” counts!

The problem here was obviously easy access.

If only every car had to be registered to it’s licensed owner….oh…wait.

    The keyword is rational.
