Former three-term Fort Wayne Mayor Paul Helmke said Thursday he’ll step down July 10 as president of the Brady Campaign and the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence.
Helmke, 62, said he’s undecided about his next career move and whether he’ll stay in Washington or return to Fort Wayne, where he maintains a home.
My guess is his best bet is to collect Social Security or Unemployment, unless they will actually take somebody this slippery and stupid in the TSA.
Sebastian and his commenters are speculating who might become the new president.

I have not looked at the link yet for Sebastian’s ideas, so if my theories below match his, it is dumb luck.
I wonder if Andrew or Collin Goddard, or even both, would step up into this coveted position. They both seem to be divorced from facts, reality, scruples, and are anti-gun ideologues, so they pass the BC requirements. The father-son dynamic will pull at the heart strings of the emotionally fragile individuals who think gun control = an end of all violence.
Too bad their desire to push their simpleton beliefs and their restrictions on the rest of us could end up getting many of us violated or killed. Could the BC follow the first rule of polite behavior and mind their own damn business?
Maybe they ran out of money to pay him??

As far as I know Joan Peterson is unpaid staffer with the Brady Camp. Not sure about if her Joyce position is paid or not.
She DOES know better, hence her constant moderation of comments.
I suspect Ladd Everett is paid for his position, but while I think Helmke and Hennigan are simply whoring for the money, I see Ladd as a true believer or at least somebody who wants to expend his hate.
