Why Are Anti-Gun Activists so Violent

Just to continue a theme done by Say Uncle let us refresh you with one Alan Baird. He wrote, and then disappeared this angry anti-gun post, which Linoge took the time to preserve forever.

He still has this angry anti-gun post up at his site here. including some bizarre posturing about buying guns himself. Trust me Alan, I know bad guys have guns, and while you’re an asshole, some of them are actually a real threat, not just a man who’s only brave when he’s hiding behind a keyboard and comment moderation.

I check his blog occasionally just to see if I can find some amusing pearls. Well today I did. He starts off with just the standard contempt for all people that seems to come standard with authoritarian lefties. (BTW why do they seem to always pitch laws for “our own good” when they hold so much contempt for us? I mean when somebody pitches socialized medicine or bans on caffeinated adult beverages on grounds of common good but then writes: “And from what I could tell via overheard snippets of conversation, these folks were largely idiots. Our babysitter/warden was disappearing for hours at a time, probably drinking to ease the existential pain of her job.” Am I to believe you’re expressing philanthropy, or simply shoving cattle into the slaughterhouse? ) Still the money quote was here:

I decided to go Full A**hole: “Can you turn it OFF?”

By this time, everyone was following our tête-à-tête with bated breath. The annoying little b*stard replied: “No.”

So I stood up. He was a short guy. I’m six-foot. As I started to move in his direction, I could see the fear in his eyes. Had he pushed his luck a little too far?

But I just wanted to get the h*ll out. As I brushed past him, he half-raised his hands to ward off any blows. I laughed.

I’d say that in a court of law there’s nothing criminal done here. Still I think we all know that Alan was intentionally physically intimidating somebody smaller than him.

Any wonder why he hates the idea of lawful people owning and carrying guns (tho seeming comfortable enough to claim to own and carry himself)? Psychological Projection would point that other people WANT to bully him, but don’t because they’re physically smaller, and he knows a gun makes physical size irrelevant. Also given that Mr. Baird seems so smug about using physical intimidation, who knows if he would actually go further (I would suspect overall he’s a coward, but he’s also not particularly bright, or clear-headed, so taking a swing or grabbing a weapon when somebody doesn’t bow to his wishes doesn’t seem to outlandish a thought) but certainly Mr. Baird doesn’t want to be in a condition where somebody is responding to his aggressive violence with defensive violence.

Also go read the whole thing and tell me if you don’t think everybody in the room was much happier that the angry leftist bully had decided to sod off alone.

He talks himself up like a folk hero, do you think he really believes that?

You know, the best way to respond to a bully is to beat them up. Just sayin’.

He’s a sad, pathetic, little man. I don’t really care about his physical size. It’s clear that he carries a massive inferiority complex.

    Wow.

That guy really is a violent, abusive, self-delusional prat. And, just think – he now (supposedly) owns a firearm and has a concealed carry permit – would it not be … interesting … if the “concealed carrier goes nuts” news story that the blood-thirsty anti-rights nuts have always wanted turns out to be someone like Byrd?

Bully is just another name for coward. I am 6′-2″ 215 lbs of farm raised beef. In my entire life I have gone out of my way to avoid using my size or strength to intimidate someone. Actually taking delight in that type of action is reprehensible. I have noticed that the so-called liberal has a lot of violent fantasies when they debate someone who will not agree with them. This may be due to their sheltered life where the only violence they see is on the TV or in movies. Violence is a very terrible thing in real life and should only be used when in defense of yourself or your loved ones from a real physical attack. At that point the violense you unleash should be superior to your attackers. We must remember that defense never wins attack does.

I have met a lot of BIG guys in my travels. Overall I’ve found the bigger and more powerful the man, the more gentle and easy-going they are.

I’ve also found that passive-agressive bully leftists who claim to be “big” tend to be tall, solid, and totally out of shape.
