89, and he really hadn’t been working on the latest cars that bear his name like the SVT Cobra GT500 Mustang that produces power levels that are just amazing.
I remember back in my Pirate days I was down for a visit to Wood’s hole meeting with a coworker over lunch at a little sidewalk cafe. A guy pulled up in an AC Cobra, of course a kit, not an authentic, and we were going back and forth about what various guts he had underneath the bodywork (he had essentially cannibalized an old Fox-Body 5.0 Mustang for the drivetrain). I remember my coworker looked VERY confused at what had just transpired as he drove off. When she noted she had no idea what an AC Cobra was, nor who Carrol Shelby was, rather than trying too hard to explain it, I just simply burnt this routine to a disk and gave it to her.
He will be greatly missed, and live on in legend!
I really needed that laugh. Thanks. Cosby is a master. 12+ minutes on ONE joke and he holds your attention and makes you laugh.
And actually that bit is the entire B-side of that album and its just north of 23mins, the version above has the intro and warmup clipped.
