Residents of a Maine town are going to have to wait at least a few more days before learning if friends and neighbors have been accused of calling on a Zumba instructor charged with being a prostitute….Alexis Wright, of Wells, has pleaded not guilty to prostitution, invasion of privacy and other charges for allegedly accepting money for sex and secretly videotaping her encounters. Her business partner also pleaded not guilty.
I’d take that over a Zumba class anyday! 😀
The video-taping without consent seems a bit dodgy, but I still don’t see why its a crime to sell something that its perfectly legal to give away for free!
I think it’s Illegal because they haven’t figured out a way to Tax it. So if the Gooberment can’t get their Free Cheese, why should anyone else?
Nah, they already have licensed establishments, with state health inspectors making sure the girls are using prophylactics and are disease free. It’s all just puritan vestiges, and evil lore that somehow if a cat house opened up at the end of my street, I’d start cheating on my wife…when so many boors are banging somebody from the office with nothing more than the thrill of the act being exchanged.
Prostitutes are like drugs. Just about everybody who wants one can get one, but under prohibition quality of the trade, and safety of the act is effected…and of course the money goes to violent criminals rather than lawful entrepreneurs.
And of course there’s the thing that greatly amuses me, is that she was charging men to have sex with her, and filming it. This was illegal. But if the men KNEW they were being filmed and were being paid as well for their “acting”, it would be a porn shoot, and 100% legal as well! (with permits and other BS of course)
Ah, you beat me to it. I was going to say it is not prostitution if you film it. But yeah, it doesn’t quite work out when she is getting the money and the footage.
