Joan Peterson Links the Ugly Truth

Just found this article in Joan’s Twitter feed:

Smith told police that he shot the teenagers, who were cousins, multiple times after they broke into his house and walked down the stairs to his basement. He described “a good clean finishing shot” at Kifer, after she had been shot several times in the chest and dragged into an office workshop. He left the bodies there for a full day before deputies arrived….”The first shot was completely authorized by Minnesota law,” Olson said. But if they have “given up the fight and are no longer a threat, you can’t shoot them again.”

Compare this with Joan’s own propaganda on the event:

Luckily for the families of the victims, the Shoot First law did not pass in Minnesota or the man could have tried using it to keep himself from being charged for murder.

You’ll notice I’m not holding my breath waiting for Joan’s retraction of her erroneous statements. Stand Your Ground, and Castle Doctrine laws make perfect sense to EVERYBODY. PERIOD. They make so much sense that Joan NEEDS to categorize such laws as a repeal of murder laws to even HOPE to get some support.

Sorry, Joan, you’re a liar and a Charlatan!

Joan just has to keep up the crazy long enough to get her Joyce funding for 2013…her comments don’t have to make sense, as long as she gets enough keywords in her blogging.

As long as she keep the chatter up, whoever is controlling the purse strings will pay….no matter the actual signal to noise ratio….just haveta get that message out!!

She’s scheming something here in MN for this coming legislative session…they’ve been circulating a new “anti-violence” petition. Smart money says they’re coming after some of the T&C’s on the MN Carry Permits.

An attack like that will surely garner funding from Uncle Mike!

Unfortunately, you are wrong about this. There is a rather large segment of society that DOESN’T understand Stand Your Ground and Castle Doctrine. We have seen (and are still seeing) that first hand down here in Florida ever since the Zimmerman/Martin case. For the most part, Joan is speaking to those people. Reinforcing their already held opinions in an attempt to keep them from reevaluating their beliefs. I’ve seen first hand just how effective that this can be.

You have blogged openly about how you yourself broke out of that cycle by noticing (at least) one place where the Joans of the world were lying, and then looking for, and finding, more. Not everyone is as intelligent. A lot of people will read Joan’s blog and just bob their head up and down without really thinking about how little the policies that she pushes will do to reduce violent crime, and at what costs, in money and freedom, that these policies have.

Not knowing the truth isn’t the same as not liking it. I’m willing to bet most people who are against these laws buy the BS about it being “Licence To Kill”, rather than the truth about protecting people who defend their lives.

Either that or they’re anti-freedom types who don’t think anybody has a right to defend themselves.

Reading Joan’s postings always make my head hurt.

  5. TS says:

I took some time off, but just went back to have her tell me that it was ā€œnitpickyā€ of me to mention that the M203 grenade launcher has nothing to do with ā€œassault weaponā€ legislation. It is perfectly reasonable to her to make a case for why ā€œthese types of weaponsā€ should be banned by pointing to other types of weapons.

    • TS says:

Now she links to a bunch of news stories of people getting arrested for possessing a grenade launcher to prove her point on how grenade launchers are legal and should be bannedā€¦

      • Thirdpower says:

You expect anything even remotely resembling logic from her?

        • Weerd Beard says:

Of course not! That’s why I quote her so often!

If she was ever reasonable, I could chalk her nonsense off as simple mistakes. Hell I say things that are wrong on this blog all the time.

Granted I correct my mistakes when I find out about them because not only am I not a batshit crazy moonbat, but I also have integrity!

If the dead girl had heard the first shot while she was still alive, and high tailed out of there, she might have gotten just slapped with trespassing.

However if you are in the wrong house for the wrong reasons, you’ll be introduced to the homeowner’s gun..bullets first.
