More from Martin/Zimmerman

Lots of Documents and photos released from the Zimmerman Martin case.

The documents are a little small for my eyes, but the photos strike me as nothing but consistent with Zimmerman’s side of the story. His face is busted up…his hands are uninjured, and there is one spent shell.

There’s the eyewitness report that also corroborates the story.

Really the only real surprise was there WAS a can of tea! Not sure if it was bought from a Seven-Eleven like alleged, or simply brought from home, but honestly I had assumed the tea and candy was a myth invented by Trayvon’s family, along with the idea that this troubled youth was a “Model Student”.

Of course there is nothing here that shows who started the fight….but so far that would have to be the ONLY lie Zimmerman told. Occam’s Razor and all.

The racists won’t be happy with this. Keep your mags loaded, and your powder dry!

We’re going to see riots!

Apparently the honor student had THC in his blood at the time too.

  2. I’m pretty sure the outrageous charge of murder two was as harsh as it was to appease the masses. I’m sure you read the same blog posts that analyzed the incitement and showed where it was a flat out weak sauce.

My theory on this latest dump of documents is that this is designed to let the masses – who are listening to the usual bomb throwing race-card sharks – to “cool down” a bit. We could all do with a few less retaliatory, pro-Trayvon hate crimes.

Since they pushed the actual trial way past the Presidential elections, I’m going to assume there will be bits and pieces dribbled out here and there in the meanwhile in the hope of avoiding any race riots. While that’s an admirable goal, and it’s probably needed to counter the race-card sharks, as far as I’m concerned it’s jury tampering.

    >Not sure if it was bought from a Seven-Eleven like alleged, …

AFAIK, they released the 7-11 security camera footage yesterday.

Apparently, S&B 115gr JHPs do work at contact distance.

At the end it shows an expanded lead core and just jacket fragments.

That’s not really tea. It’s closer to watermelon Kool-aid than anything else. We were lied to _again_ by the usual suspects! 😉

Skittles, in a pocket contaminated with blood, are mentioned in the reports as well. Martin is documented to have a dime in his pocket. IIRC Martin’s father mentioned he had left with ~$22 on him during a Dateline interview.

Martin had earbuds & a T-Mobile phone locked via swipe code. Zimmerman refused to provide his phone’s PIN without legal counsel. Other items appear to be Zimmerman’s 2AA flashlight and a keychain light.

Didn’t see what this amazing europellet load was… but it’s not some fancy nickel-plated premium casing. Loose cartridge in the evidence bag and pictures of casing in grass lead me to believe the weapon cycled fully, not that it jammed due to a struggle like some have claimed.

That answers all the questions I had… not going to bother reading more. Older documents (officer reports, witness statements) are toward the bottom as far as I could tell, and more recent forensic reports toward the top.

I posted earlier that it was a Sellier & Bellot 115gr JHP , they only make one JHP in 9×19 the V310422 with MV of 1236fps

here is another video of it youtu.be/of_V1s1vAIg

In the discovery pdf ,on page 20 they talk of recovering one 9mm S&B case. On page 120 they list one lead core and two fragments. And on 127 they list the same lead core and two fragments and no exit wound.

Oddly, S&B steel-cased FMJ is the only ammo that regularly failed (i.e. two rounds from a magazine) in the PF9 that I’ve fired… Apparently European primers are known to be harder than the Remingtons used that day. One cartridge fired on second try, second was fed to my Glock after the PF9 gave it two swings.

Can’t say anthing about the gun’s maintenance or history, but S&B would be my last choice if I were carrying a PF9.

This is why we always test our carry ammo in our carry guns (I also add to the test by NEVER testing carry ammo in a clean gun. I want the gun to be as dry as reasonably possible, and mucked up with some powder fouling to assume the worst conditions), and I still generally recommend that people pick the high-dollar carry rounds, just because of higher QC, ballistics testing, and round construction.

Really I’m just noting that if somebody were to ask me if they REALLY needed to upgrade from a cheaper 9mm JHP (such as S&B or Winchester White Box), I wouldn’t push too hard if they informed that money was tight, and that indeed the rounds are reliable in their unit.
