Sleeping at the Switch

Quite literally. I was exhausted last night after a day of work and fighting off the last wave of this cold. Maddmedic scooped me on this horrible local story.

A Massachusetts mother is in custody after police said she slashed her two children in the throat and set her apartment on fire.

Police said the children, ages 3 and 8, suffered very serious injuries and remain in critical condition at the Children’s Hospital Boston, Fox affiliate WFXT-TV reported.

Tanicia Goodwin, 25, of Salem, Mass., will be arraigned Monday in Salem District Court on several charges, including two counts of assault with intent to murder and two counts assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and arson.

The antis have their “Kid Shooting” blog attempting to show that adults owning guns is a danger to their children. Of course they ignore people using guns to defend themselves, because that renders their argument useless. Furthermore stories like this show that children are SO vulnerable to ANY form of violence.

Hopefully these poor kids will survive and my heart goes out to them. The antis don’t care, because they aren’t worthy of a candle. Arson and knives are different than guns because guns are different.

Interesting… a death and ‘crime of passion’ attempted murder attributed to a waiting period…

I thought waiting periods were supposed to stop this type of crime!

If I recall correctly, more children are beaten to death by parents than are killed by firearms.
