Still Spinning

Yet another article the antis are pushing pointing out that JUSTIFIABLE Homicide is on the rise in Florida.

Just go read the article if you want. But there’s stories of bad people doing bad things and getting shot for it. There’s also stories of questionable cases where the killer claimed “Self Defense”, and are being charged with a serious crime (generally murder).

The Bradies are pushing this article because Dan Gross got quoted two knee-jerk lines. (BTW Gross, you shouldn’t be happy about this article. I know you’re an angry crazy gun-grabber, but I’m sure you had more to say than those two lines, and they make you look dumber than you really are)

Again, Justifiable homicide is a GOOD thing. Its innocent people protecting themselves from dangerous ones. Also “Stand Your Ground” and “Castle Doctrine” are not a “License to Murder”, you kill somebody Police are going to give it a solid investigation, simply “Castle Doctrine” and “Stand Your Ground” further defines what must be met for you to be held and charged.

And as Mas Ayoob Said “If they say otherwise they are saying they haven’t read the law.”

Some of the local anti-liberty rags are carrying the headline on this article as just Homicide is on the rise…… They can’t even be honest enough to tell the real story.

  2. Dave S says:

Apparently in the past, it might take a year or two for a justified homicide case to be adjudicated, one of the provisions of the stand your ground law is that the hearing to decide if it’s justified is done early on by a judge. Therefore a process that used to take a year or two is now only taking a few months, and justified homicides are being decided more soon than before. So it appears as if they are going up.

“If they say otherwise they are saying they haven’t read the law.”

Or they don’t understand the “reasonable person standard”.

  4. Greg Camp says:

The reaction that I’ve read from the control freaks is that it’s just terrible that justifiable homicides are going up. The increase is small, and the key word, justifiable, doesn’t seem to register with them. Of course, a good citizen getting killed counts for their purpose of disarming other good citizens.

By the way, I love the fact that one of those self defense shootings was with a Tokarev. Huzzah for the 7.62 x 25!

  5. Robert says:

I wouldn’t say it’s a good thing (people not being put in positions where they have to kill someone else to defend themselves would be a GOOD thing), but it’s certainly better than most of the other alternatives.

  6. Linoge says:

I just do not understand why people have such a hard time understanding that justifiable homicides are called “justifiable” because their was an overwhelmingly good, legal reason to shoot that person.

What would these anti-rights cultists prefer? More would-be rapists, muggers, robbers, murderers, and so forth actually succeeding in their intended purposes?

Wait, do not bother with that question – we all already know the answer.
