Zombie Must-Haves

OK, the whole Zombie thing is silly. Its fiction not fact. Still I’m amused by things like this.

Still it has the shotgun, which we should know is NOT a good choice (still a box magazine fed scattergun is better than the traditional pump and semi-auto tube-loaders) And anybody who’s used a chainsaw knows their limitations. And stuff like the morning star are just silly!

Still a bunch of those things can be VERY useful for a REAL disaster.

There are a lot of redundant items in that picture. Edged weapons are really only good for people who spend a long time training–more than needed to shoot passably. One good machete and the baseball bat or an axe will take care of clubbing and chopping needs. Explosives and accelerants only serve to spread zombie particles into the air.

One always reliable semiauto rifle with lots of loaded magazines plus an always reliable handgun (also with lots of magazines) is the best bet. Zombies are simple–stupid and in vast numbers. The key is to focus on something that will work, instead of trying a thousand clever solutions.

  2. What is with the books on how to make gun powder on the zombie essential lists?

Don’t people know that the powder made would be black powder, and be meant for shotguns and front stuffers?
