A Valid Point!

A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed

This makes gun control illegal:

A Missouri lawmaker is proposing to send colleagues to prison for introducing gun control legislation — a plan that even its sponsor acknowledges has no chance of passage but nonetheless highlights the increasingly strident tone of gun measures in Missouri’s generally pro-gun Legislature.

Rep. Mike Leara said Tuesday that he considers his bill a statement of principle. It would make lawmakers guilty of a felony punishable by up to four years in prison if they introduce legislation restricting gun rights.

Break your oath of office, go to prison! Sounds fair to me! Hell it’s a lot more fair than sending somebody to prison for possessing a magazine!

It sounds good, but if the Missouri Constitution has a Speech or Debate Clause like the US Constitution does, this would be unconstitutional:

[M]embers of both Houses of Congress . . . shall in all Cases, except Treason, Felony, and Breach of the Peace, be privileged from Arrest during their attendance at the Session of their Respective Houses, and in going to and from the same; and for any Speech or Debate in either House, they shall not be questioned in any other Place.

You can’t cut down all the laws in England to get to the devil.

God Bless Missouri! Looks like their Legislature has told the Commies “This Ain’t New York State. Don’t even Think about it.”

No need to got through all that trouble..it’s already covered. See Title 18, Section 241 United States Code. In relevent par it states:

“If two or more persons conspire to injure, oppress, threaten, or intimidate any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege secured to him by the Constitution or laws of the United States… …They shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both…”

That’s a federal felony folks. One that the NY congress (and governor) are arguably guilty of already.
