Another Zimmerman Sighting

And he now has a gun!

FORNEY, Texas – George Zimmerman, the former Florida neighborhood watch leader cleared of all charges in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, was pulled over for speeding in North Texas on Sunday, CBS DFW reports.

According to the station, Zimmerman was armed when officers pulled him over on Highway 80 in Forney, east of Dallas.

The officer reportedly did not recognize Zimmerman, who was driving a Honda pickup. Zimmerman told the officer he was armed and was then told to put the weapon in his glove compartment, according to the station. The officer then told Zimmerman he could go on his way if he had no criminal issues.

Yep, a 100% non-story, with the exception that I’m happy that George is once again Armed, and is apparently getting the hell out of Florida.

If I was him I’d be changing my name to “George *random Spanish name*” and heading West too. Texas is a pretty good place. Wyoming and Arizona are better!

Be safe, George!

Given how small (think 1 traffic light) Forney Texas is; I’m betting the cop realized who George was and how much ribbing he would get for giving him a ticket when he decided to let him off with a warning.

Nice to see George taking advantage of his freedom to travel without being monitored (well except by the NSA).

Notice how the firearm was a non-issue during the stop? Most Texas cops treat possession of a firearm in the exact same manner; please leave it where it is.
Sometimes they’ll ask what you are carrying which leads to some great discussions on different pistols.

“The officer reportedly did not recognize Zimmerman”

Liberal: Then that officer needs to be retrained! He didn’t recognize a nationally exposed murderer!

The rest of us: Why is this a story? And who really thinks that a cop didn’t recognize Zimmerman? If he didn’t…he does need to be retrained to be observant.
