Anti-Gun Hypocrisy

Gotta love the double standard of the anti-gun people. From Joan Peterson:

And back to the corporate gun lobby, they have made a shameful attempt to exploit the anniversary of the shooting of JFK by selling coins with the image of the President as advertised in the American Rifleman magazine.

This “story” was torn apart by Miguel. Yes an NRA Advertiser is selling uncirculated 1964 silver dollars. You see, John Kennedy was an NRA life-member and an avid shooter. He was the last Democrat in the White House to actually support the Second Amendment. Further those who support gun rights are also concerned about the future, so silver coins have a lot of appear.

Still now comes the Irony:

There is no reason that makes any sense for opposing the latest attempts to save lives. As we approach the one year anniversary of the Sandy Hook school shooting on December 14th, we need to remind our elected leaders that they have had the chance over the past year to prevent at least some of the deaths due to bullets by passing a background check bill. But they have failed us. That is shameful pandering to those whose interest lies in making profits and not saving lives. We lose too many people every day to bullets to ignore the problem and fail to act.

Yep, selling silver coins bearing the likeness of a pro-gun president is “Exploiting a Tragedy” but citing a mass shooting and in the same breath talking about legislation that would have done NOTHING to stop it is fair game.

Soul, Joan…you obviously don’t have one…
