The Antis and Money

Joan has a generally listless screed out on the issue of research on guns and gun violence:

The case for doing research on guns and gun violence is crucial. When so many people die of anything in this country, we get to work and study why, how, who, and where. That is as it should be. Of course, not so for guns. The NRA has made sure that Americans are as dumb as possible when it comes to guns. Why? Because studying an issue, providing causes, effects and solutions actually leads to good results. And good results might find that having a gun in the home for self defense might lead to someone in the home getting shot. Or carrying a gun in public might lead to an accident or someone shooting a person unnecessarily. It might lead to laws that make it harder, rather than easier, for some people to get guns.

What Joan is pissed at is that research on gun control is not funded by the public larder. Joan makes it sound like NO research on the issue is going on. Of course that’s a lie, she cites all sorts of Joyce and Bloomberg funded “studies”, and God bless them.

Further Mike Bloomberg just dumped $2 Million on an Illinois election! If you’re so concerned about research, why don’t you question that huge sum of cash being spent on what very well could have been a win for them either way? (Of course the reality is the antis are losing the battle, so they NEEDED this as a “Victory” and Joan blogs on it as such)

Sorry its not ILLEGAL to research guns and violence, and the data is there from the FBI and the CDC, just its illegal to do agenda based research on that data…for either side, if that research is funded by government grants.

So really Joan is butthurt because THEY have to pay for their own research. Joan isn’t the only one harping on this. This is telling me they’re in financial troubles.

Japete has been butthurt since her very first posting of 20 questions where she got
her parts handed to her in a bag. So whats changed, nothing.

Move on, there is nothing to see there.

There is LOTS to see! I won’t lie, I love watching it burn! 😀

However yes watching a train wreck in progress is hard to turn away from. The real problem is we could be on that train.

LOL! There are many races that Jedi Mind Tricks don’t work on….Weer’ds are one of them! 😀

Also its my feeling that by watching the antis as closely as we can we can keep the train we’re on from wrecking.

The best example is “Universal Background Checks”. Overall I think the idea of background checks is very positive in the eyes of the uninitiated. Meanwhile the idea of confiscation is nearly universally detested in all but the hardened “Progressive” circles.

When we point out that all the people pushing HARD for “Universal Background Checks” are the same people who are openly dreaming of door-to-door confiscation suddenly we can turn the hearts of many who otherwise think this is a GREAT idea!

    FSA.

They see all the free cash given to the Global Climate Warming Change kooks and get jealous they can’t get checks from the big daddy government for turning in faked studies, too.

I’ll study gun control if they pay me $1 million per year. They won’t like my results.

    • Weerd Beard says:

Unfortunately since we’re on the winning side and the majority, the pro-gun lobby doesn’t NEED to pay us to graph CDC data or collect defensive gun uses, or run things like my “Gun Death?” Files.

We do it for free, and they spend their money where its more needed, on TV ads, and opposing anti-rights politicians.

Joan is upset because their side can’t compete without federal funds, and those funds are being denied.

  4. Cargosquid says:

They really hate when you remind them that the ban on funding was NOT on researching gun violence, etc. It was on studies that end up promoting gun control.

And that money added up to about 1.2% of a billion dollar budget.

Facts. They can’t live with’em….they can’t live with out making them up.
