“Gun Death” Morning Buzz

I’m actually surprised you don’t see more of these:

A caffeine overdose has been ruled the cause of an Ohio prom king’s sudden death before graduation in May.

The Lorain County Coroner reports Logan Stiner of LaGrange, Ohio, had toxic levels of caffeine in his body, and died from an irregular heartbeat and seizures after ingesting caffeine powder.

Stiner was found by his brother near the white powder on May 27, having taken enough to cause the overdose while at home from school for lunch.

Now in this story, he was using pure caffeine powder. I have a buddy who buys the stuff and adds it to his homebrew beer with great results. Still every store out there sells energy drink water-enhancer, as well as those energy shot drinks. Somebody looking to get a crazy buzz might think it’s a good idea to simply plow through a bunch of those. Toxicity is really easy with these purified formulas.

Still they’re cheap and easy ways to get a caffeine boost without lugging a case of diet Coke around with you everywhere.

I guess we should just ban guns, because only “Gun Death” counts.
