“Gun Death” Phillip Seymore Hoffman

I’m really sad to see this one:

Philip Seymour Hoffman, one of the most critically acclaimed actors of his generation, was found dead in New York on Sunday morning of an apparent drug overdose

Investigators found a syringe in his left forearm, at least two plastic envelopes with what appeared to be heroin nearby, and five empty plastic envelopes in a trash bin, the official said.

“It’s pretty apparent that it was an overdose,” the official said. “The syringe was in his arm.”

Hoffman was an amazing actor, and I don’t think we ever saw his full potential. There’s a lot of talk about his anti-gun political stance, but when it comes to Hollywood films, I’m forced to hold my nose and watch the art. I love movies, and even if I COULD boycott them (I honestly couldn’t) I don’t think it would make a difference anyway.

Still the bigger issue is his illegal drug use. Heroine is totally banned, along with countless street drugs, yet illegal drug overdoses dwarf “Gun Death” in America.

Further most of the “Gun Deaths” in America are directly linked to the illegal drug trade, so his lifestyle that killed him also lead to the deaths of many others through drugs and bullets.

But the “Gun Death” Zealots will only talk about “Gun Deaths”, and further ignore WHY these people are shooting each other, because drugs are already banned, and just because the prohibition has been completely ineffective, they think the solution is ANOTHER prohibition.

Even more laughable is the incremental nature of their assault on our rights. Their end game is a total or near total ban on guns, which is easy to extrapolate the effectiveness of this by looking at Mexico and their issues with Drug Cartels and illegal weapons.
