The Tyranny of Gun Control

Uncle links this story about a judge tossing the arbitrary limit of 7 rounds in legal 10-round magazines in New York under SAFE.

That’s a small step towards good, but I wanted to cite one quote from that article:

Wojdan, 26, of Parkwood Drive, Lockport, wasn’t all that happy after court, despite the dismissal of the criminal charge, because he won’t immediately get all his firearms back.

After Wojdan’s arrest, Niagara County sheriff’s deputies confiscated five other guns listed on his pistol permit, which also covered the Ruger.

“What does he gain keeping my guns?” Wojdan stormed as attorney James D. Tresmond tried to calm him. “I should have them back right now.”

Tresmond said he will file a motion before Niagara County Judge Matthew J. Murphy III for the return of the guns.

Let that sink in. He was acquitted of all criminal charges. He did nothing wrong under the law. If he were to move to a free state today he could engage in any legal activity involving firearms that somebody who has NEVER had any interaction with law enforcement or the judicial system could.

Yet all the guns listed on his pistol permit (most of which were at his home at the time of his arrest) were confiscated and remain in police custody.

This is the same thing with open carry in Massachusetts. Open carry is 100% legal so long as you have an LTC permit with no restrictions. Unfortunately if you get CAUGHT LEGALLY EXERCISING YOUR RIGHTS here they will revoke your permit simply because they CAN.

No crimes, no legal issue, no justification.

Gun control is tyranny! And is it any surprise? Those who don’t support the 2nd Amendment don’t much care about ANY of our constitutional rights.

They are anti-freedom, not anti gun!

One Response to The Tyranny of Gun Control

  1. Archer says:

It comes down to this: the guy was charged and would have been guilty of something the powers-that-be think should have been a crime.

The fact that it’s NOT a crime somehow carries less meaning and relevance than that they think it should have been.

So now he has to spend considerable time and money suing to get his property back – which will likely end up costing more than the guns are worth to begin with – all because the “authorities” feel like jerking him around. And the sad part is that unless/until they ARE sued – with hefty damages – there’s nothing to discourage them from treating every other legal gun owner this way.

Read that again: ZERO criminal/civil liability on the part of the authorities, while the private citizen foots the bill.

And that is tyranny in a nutshell.
