Therapy Ducks

Of all the therapy animals, this is one I can get behind:

An Army veteran who hurt his back during the Iraq War is worried a citation will result in him losing his 14 pet ducks, which he says are therapeutic.

Darin Welker said officials in the village of West Lafayette told him to get rid of the ducks in May and cited him for a minor misdemeanor on June 23 for failing to comply. Walker is scheduled to appear in Coshocton Municipal Court for a hearing Wednesday and could face a $150 fine.

Welker, 36, says the ducks help him with depression and post-traumatic stress disorder and keep him more active.

Ducks are super soft, and patting soft stuff makes you feel better. The stupid rat dogs some people keep as “Therapy Animals” are also soft, but unlike rat-dogs, ducks are cute. So are rats, but if you want a dog, get a dog-sized dog….because dogs should be dog-sized!

They’re also social so you can just let them do their thing and entertainment happens! They also make great noises, again another bonus over rat-dogs.

Why the hell are these busy-bodies after this man’s ducks? They give no reason for it. Now unlike rat-dogs, which do smell bad, ducks, if not properly cared for smell WAYY worse, but since this guy is also using them to “keep active” cleaning up duck filth is probably one of them, and it sounds like the enclosure he has is ideal.

Bahh! Duck lovers unite!!
