Really a remarkably good Defensive Gun Use Story:

Police say a shopper with a concealed weapons permit fatally shot a suspect to thwart a carjacking Saturday outside a Utah grocery store.

Investigators say the 31-year-old male shooter was in Macey’s parking lot in Orem, 45 miles south of Salt Lake City, when he heard a woman’s screams as she was being pulled from her SUV by the suspect.

The man told police he went to assist the woman and fired one round after the 27-year-old male suspect lunged at him in an attempt to grab his gun.

The suspect, who was shot in the chest, later died at a hospital.

Carjacking in progress, good Samaritan comes to the rescue, and when all else fails fires one single, but effective shot.

Of course the bleeding hearts will be unhappy that the Carjacker was killed…I’m sure his Mother will protest what a good boy he was, and his friends will remark that he was turning his life around.

No cross fire, no police shootings, no trigger-happy racist-fueled violence.

Just all the reasons why you want those of us who carry a gun around when you need us.

  1. Jack/OH says:

These lawful self-defense firearm incidents need some sort of local recognition, maybe organized by a local guy with good political instincts–no grandstanders or opportunists–and his heart in the right place. Help to reaffirm in the public mind that the Second Amendment and lawful use of firearms is a very good thing.
