“Gun Death” African Style

Just look at that body count!

More than 50 people have been massacred in a village in the Democratic Republic of Congo by machete and axe-wielding attackers.

The killings happened yesterday near the Ugandan border around 10km from the town of Beni, where the army and UN peacekeepers are stationed.

Government officials blamed the massacre on the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), a Ugandan Islamist rebel group.

Now note, since I do only one of these stories a day, and my readers are AWESOME about keeping me well stocked with stories this is NOT a current event! It happened LAST NOVEMBER. Did you hear about it? Did you Read about it?

As sad as it was Sandy Hook was 27 murder victims, and Virginia Tech was 32! Now the Norway Massacre left 77 dead (67 by gunfire) but that was international news….I didn’t even know this happened until I started typing this post!

OVER FIFTY DEAD! Why isn’t this a HUGE story? Maybe because it’s poor black people, we don’t talk about Chicago gang shootings much either, and it wasn’t “Gun Death”.

How cold, the blood of the anti-gunners

To shrug and say “Africa Wins Again” feels like a really dismissive thing to do, but hearing about such atrocities and tragedies from that part of the world is so commonplace that it’s hard not to.

As to the coverage: Wrong race, wrong continent, wrong perpetrators, wrong weapons, and no agenda that can be pushed with the story= no story.

Still, maybe we can come up with another super-effective hashtag campaign to stop this. It worked so well with Joseph Kony and Boko Haram, after all.

Tutsi killed by Hutu in Rwanda; Serbs killed by Croatians in the WWII-era. My Wikipedia-level understanding of these modern-era slaughters is they were done mostly with, I guess, Bronze Age-inspired edged and pointed weapons. Anti-rights people have a thought on the subject?

If firearms were–somehow–made to disappear from America’s mean streets, would the anti-rights folks like to speculate on how “enforcement” would be done in the ‘hood? Lead-tipped pool cues? Steel-toed boots? Okay, I get it. The anti-rights people are too busy being faux righteous to care about the consequences of their thinking.

It’s black on black in Africa, so it doesn’t fit the narrative. The perpetrators are Muslim, and the MSM must not speak badly about Muslims, so it doesn’t fit the narrative. That story got buried fast, with two strikes against it.

Bernard Goldberg, the former CBS news guy, covered a Caribbean hurricane that was followed by black folks looting black-owned businesses on one island. His story and the video were spiked. He speculated in the radio interview I heard that the story didn’t fit the “white bourgeois oppressor-black prole victim” boogie-woogie the media like to promote.
