What’s really funny is the accepted pronunciation of Worcester is “WUS-Ter” in fact the locals say “WIS-ter”, which is even more fucked up!

Funny, every time I talked to someone from Worcester, they pronounced it “Worse-ter”.
Maybe the “locals” weren’t as “local” as they said they were?
Acknowledging that it’s Vermont, not Mass, they say it “WUS-Ter” up here.
I don’t even say “WIS-ter” because I’m from Maine, and even some people from Mass say it the same as you and I, but people FROM Worcester, say “WIS-ter”.
