I just assumed with the brain destroyed or severely malfunctioning from being carved up and/or scrambled caused the respective motor nerves to dump their neuro transmitters….which I guess is true, but I’d sound like an idiot explaining that….
Thanks for that! I know intellectually that a headshot isn’t as traumatic for the animal as it looks, but wow. Hell, I’ve cut the head right off a good many chickens and they always seem to take that extremely personally – even though there’s it’s head, lying right there on the ground, and the bird can’t possibly be having as bad a day as its body’s activity indicates.
Of course once in a while a perfect brain shot will cause them to slump right over – but that’s not the norm. Normally they thrash for a while, and I can’t help but feel a little bad about it.
