“Deadly Delay” but not a “Gun Death”

The District police department policy on forcible entry caused a “deadly delay” as officers waited for a supervisor outside an apartment while a mother and her two young sons were being stabbed to death inside, according to a lawsuit filed by the woman’s family.

Well at least he didn’t have a gun….or anybody else. This is a victory in the eyes of the anti-gun crowd, as it did not result in a single “Gun Death”. And of course the Police are always there to protect you!

Of course there was a grim downside:

Inside, they found the family already murdered. Mays was in the bathroom with minor self-inflicted wounds.

If he had a gun his family wouldn’t be any less or more dead…but maybe he might have saved our legal and penal system a heap of money.

Another sad chapter in the “Gun Death?” file, and nothing that puts a smile on my face. Still I do this in hope to smack that stupid statistic out of the hands of those who wish to use it for an evil even greater than Mays’.

Honestly, I see this news article as a complete and utter demolition of the notion that the police will protect you… those cops who responded to the call waited outside for 45 gorramed minutes while this despicable scumbag turned his family into fillets. They were almost unquestionably screaming, the police knew well enough what was going on in there, and yet they waited.

*shudder* How those men are living with themselves, I have no idea… but that would probably first require them to understand that “just obeying orders” is not enough.
