DGU: Be a Man!

The Armed Citizen Has this DGU Up There might be a bit more bravado than I care for personally. But Emotionally, its a RIOT!

Ken Easler, 73, said he went into his home on Jones Road before heading to the farmer’s market on Saturday morning when he heard someone inside the house.

“I was taking produce to the market,” he said. “I was going in the house to get something to drink.”

Easler said when he went into the house, he heard someone upstairs. He grabbed his gun and waited for the person to come downstairs.

“I put the clip in and jacked one in the chamber, and when I did, he had already started down the steps. He sat down. He sat down and held onto the rail.

Dunno if this was a tough-guy Israeli Draw situation, or if he just said it that way, and happens to have an unloaded defensive gun stashed somewhere. Sounds cool. dunno if it IS cool. The Goblin gives the BEST excuse EVER *sarcasm*

“(He) started saying stuff like, ‘I had to use the bathroom so bad. I had to use your bathroom. I was walking down the road and I had this big urge to use that bathroom.’”

But Easler wasn’t having it.

“I told him, you know, ‘You’d better shut up and don’t make any sudden moves.’”

Break into my house, if you don’t play your cards right, you very well might die. And no, you did not break into my house to use the bathroom. If you had to use the bathroom you would have shit in my driveway or pissed on the SIDE of my house, and risked much more minor criminal charges. Money Quote:

He said the man then tried to get sympathy from him.

“He started like hyper-ventilating. He said, ‘I’ve got to have water — my heart — I’ve got to have water.’

“At one point, he started faking a cry like a baby would cry. I said, ‘Shut up, that don’t work either.’ I said, ‘You became a man when you came in my house.’ and I said, ‘I don’t want to hear no crying.’”

Just a funny story. And it turns out the goblin was robbing him. Hmmm, that bathroom story was so believable too!

That is a great article — Love the verve of the old man!

I can see leaving an unloaded firearm around the house in some cases. If you have other loaded firearms available, I might see having one without one in the chamber. If you usually carry, I could see having one in a drawer.

Love the fact the old man didn’t buy any of the sob stories. I am surprised that the power of the gun didn’t overwhelm the victim and make him start shooting the robber, the walls, the produce and any moving critters — aren’t guns supposed to be that powerful?

Yeah sounds like it was a HD pistol stashed someplace with an empty well and loaded magazines nearby. Probably one of the safest ways to store a gun, while still having it available for rapid deployment. Given that if somebody can #1 Find the gun, #2. Pick it up #3. Properly insert and seat the magazine, and #4 Rack the slide to chamber a round….they’re old enough to know better than to do such things.

Unless that child was trained in the Brady Camp safety programs….which involve the parents of the child hoping the guns simply don’t exist while their kid is playing with a gun they should know better about…
