Hmmm

So despite everybody buying guns and cleaning out ammo counters, and pushing certain guns into the stratosphere in price, it seems that nationally violent crime went down. Dunno why criminals might not prey on people who are armed.

Oddly enough Mass did NOT join those stats.

The number of murders in Massachusetts increased by 3 percent between 2008 and 2009 with 172 murders reported last year, while the number of murders across the country went down by 7.3 percent to 15,241.

While the overall number of violent crimes declined across the country for a third straight year by 5.3 percent from 2008 to 2009, Massachusetts saw an overall increase in violent crimes by 0.8 percent – 99.6 percent of which occurred in metropolitan areas.

(FYI Metropolitan areas have the strictest gun control in the state)

So when Joan Peterson of the Brady Campaign and Million Mom March says:

Move on and bring up some real things that can be done to reduce gun injuries and deaths before they happen!

She does kind of look like a fool….

Bob- I have addressed the things you talked about, above. is the first part of the quote…..except for one small problem.

Joan Peterson — at least blogging as Japete, doesn’t seem to have discussed those issues too much.

Sorry to pimp a link but here is a a lady claiming to want thoughtful discussion, claiming to have discussed issues like poverty or education — without any evidence of those discussion on her blog.

    Fool or Liar?

When your position necessitates dishonesty it’s impossible not to look foolish.

I’ll point & laugh at Joan, since she deletes comments and lacks the intellectual rigor needed for honest & open discussion.

That’s why I send her as much traffic as I can. I want eyes to look upon her festering pustule of lies and dishonesty, as well as her affiliation with those who want to strip us of our rights.

Pardon my french, dude, but that was fucking poetic. 😉

Observation 1: Considering that the change is only 7% and at least one state is missing–can we see the error bars on that?

Observation B: There were successful prosecutions of some notorious “Failyors Against Guns”.

Observation III: Look at that interesting 99.6 % figure; let’s stop saying “national crime rates” and start directing the attention where it belongs: quack social engineers in big cities who perpetually blame contraband for the endless morgue-fuls of defenseless victims that their illegal policies create.
