Tasty! Do you have any to spare? The missus has never had swamp donkey…

  2. Lissa says:

Um. Chick from the city here. Whaaaaaa?

    • Vector says:

Swamp donkey = moose in Weer’d (Weer’dese? What does one call the Weer’d language?)

      • Lissa says:

        Thank you 🙂

        • Weerd Beard says:

Technically that term is used in North West Maine and parts of Central Canada as far as I can tell.

Honestly never heard the term until recently, but when you see a moose (especially a cow, or a bull without antlers) “Swamp Donkey” is about as fitting a name as you can get!

        • The next two items on the test for cultural literacy:

          1. Slow Elk

          2. Long pig

(“Swamp donkey” is a new one for me. I know what “marsh rabbit” is though.)

          • Weerd Beard says:

heh, just looked up “marsh rabbit” that’s pretty funny too! They any good?

Oddly enough I never heard “Slow Elk” either. In Maine shooting domestic cattle is often referred to as “Hunting Does” as the cow doesn’t have antlers.

  3. Wally says:

    Such kind eyes, that one.

  4. DaddyBear says:

Moose- The other other white meat

  5. ZerCool says:

I didn’t know AD was in Maine recently.
