“Gun Death” Sword

Those who use the metric “Gun Death” seem to imply the world was better before guns and gunpowder, and it would be better to return to those times.

Police say they gunned down a sword wielding man suspected of stabbing both his girlfriend and her teen-aged daughter. The girlfriend later died, but the suspect is at ECMC and the daughter is at Women & Children’s Hospital.

Good thing the police had guns because proportionate force is only a good thing for the bad guy!

I have an idea that will make everyone happy.

We should make it illegal for criminals to use more force than their victims have available.

If the criminal wants to rob a little 95 pound, 87 year old grandma; they can but only those criminals who aren’t stronger than her.

Want to rob a home, better find out if they have firearms available before you tote yours.

Failure to abide by the “Equal Opportunity for Violence Act” will result in jail time.

That should solve the problem, right 🙂

This (and an earlier “gun death” post on a knife death that I can’t find right now) makes me think of this one.

It might be worth adding to the “gun death” files, even though it happened about 2 years ago. Colin Goddard certainly seems to have ignored it while taking advantage of his “victim” status in his anti-gun crusade for the Brady Bunch, even though it took place at the same school.

More at my blog here and here. It was pretty gruesome.
