Robert “I’m a Gun Owner But..” Farago of the Truth About Guns is back at it again. He wrote up a crazy screed about the NRA that Sebastian takes to task. Then in the comments says
I am ALWAYS looking for new voices for the site. I frequently find writers in the comments section. I invite people to write for us. I use articles from other sites WITH PERMISSION.
Except I’ve yet to hear a of a single time ANYBODY has been contacted by Farago BEFORE he lifted a post or some content. (If he has contacted you about using your work let us know in the comments, you may be the only one).
Also this isn’t ancient history, he just did it again the other night.
Farago is a carpet bagger who has decided that the future is in blogs, and after he burned all bridges with The Truth About Cars he’s decided to turn to Guns with much the same results. He makes up for his lack of talent by being a disingenuous asshole.
There are lots of great gun blogs out there, especially ones that don’t roll out the red carpet for former drug dealers turned trolls.
But of course Farago claims to have done no such behavior. Who you gonna believe, the troll or your lyin’ eyes!
**UPDATE** BTW this isn’t the first time this has happened. A Twitter post by Farago re-tweeted by Joan Peterson. The antis LOVE Farago, because he’s a “Gun Guy” who’s on their side.

I suggest you edit your comment “former drug dealers turned trolls.” to “Suspected or possible” — I don’t have any proof that he dealt drugs. He could be inno -he he heheh- cent.
He could have also just used the drugs instead of dealing — but again, lacking proof we don’t know for sure.
After all, we know that he is willing to lie — who knows what all else he’s lied about.
The fact that Farago has decided to make Sparky a co-blogger or author at the site is just another reason for me not to read it.
You used “Suspected”, Mike’s comments confirm your suspicions. Your post is titled “Draw your own Conclusions” I did. He was a drug dealer back in the 70s and 80s, and carried guns illegally as part of his crime racket.
Farago is an asshole, a thief and a liar. Simple as that.
I really can’t understand how Farago keeps up his site with all the Nonsense he keeps spouting. What gets me is the Advertisers who continue to be on his site. Someone better tell their Marketing Dept. that backing this guy isn’t helping their Bottom Line.
Lemme see… Farago jacked my “Graphics Matter” chart (which very clearly had “(c) wallsofthecity.net” printed on it) without so much as a “by your leave”, and then got massively pissy when I pointed out his lack of link-back to him.
Likewise, he, personally, jacked an entire post of Tam’s, and his response to her calling him on it? He offered her a job. Not even an apology, just a, “Hey, if you want to stop having your stuff stolen from you, come work for us!”
And, more recently, a gentleman contacted me regarding Farago stealing his content in its entirety as well… Thankfully, that time around, Robert got off his lazy ass and gave credit where credit was due, but that is certainly the exception for that man.
One of the concepts that has stuck with me from my Legal Officer training in the Navy is that of “patterns of misconduct” – no, the individual punishments for repeatedly doing stupid little things never will add up to much, but there comes a point where you have done enough stupid little things that the government is willing to either ream you a new one or cut its losses. Robert has had countless chances to live up to those vaunted “journalistic ethics” he keeps whinging about. He has so far failed. Wow. I had no idea this Robert Farago guy was such a sleezeball. Him and his ilk stole are using a photo that I share under the Creative Commons 2.0 Attribution, Non-Commercial, No Derivatives license and he’s accusing ME of being in the wrong and that content-theft is the norm for the Internet. What a prick. I can’t wait to file a DMCA Takedown notice, and everyone who has been negatively impacted by his garbage should do the same.

I’m personally not interested in taking it to the courts as I have no real damages from the items stolen. That being said, Mr. Farago isn’t in his best interest snubbing what he claims to be “Fellow Travelers” (Scare quotes because Mr. Farago has no interest in guns or the 2nd Amendment that don’t make him money)
So good luck, but keep spreading this around. His readers need to know what he is, and how he operates.
