Tilted Kilt

Went to Tilted Kilt last night by the invitation of Crimson Trace.

First up, the food was OK, the service was not great, and frankly ladies walking around in next to nothing isn’t all that interesting to me. Also they demanded all the open carriers disarm in the parking lot, or put their guns in the restaurant office safe.

I will note I was NOT open carrying at the time.

That being said said it was a whos who on blogging, plus our Crimson Trace rep was Iain Henderson, who won the First season of Top Shot, also there was is Chris Reed, winner of Season two. I had a whole lot of fun talking with both of them, not because of Top Shot, a show I haven’t watched, but because they were damn interesting guys. Iain is friggin crazy, and at one point he was indeed licking my head. Chris seemed a little more quiet, but once I got him talking he, Caleb, and I got to exchanging dirty jokes, which is one of my most favorite passtimes.

So I wasn’t a fan of the venue, but it was a great evening in whole.

What a coincidence, I went to Tilted Kilt for the first time last Saturday. Our food was great and so was the service – although it was patently obvious my group (eight guys) was receiving plenty of attention in the hopes of a tip.

Anyways, do you think this policy was put into place because of the convention? Were there signs posted? Or were you simply accosted in the parking lot and told to disarm?

Went to the Tilted Kilt in Birmingham once. It was about an 8-2 ratio of crack whores to moderately attractive women. The place made Hooter’s look classy. The food was ok, and the service was decent. No signs or anything here. No bouncers either.
