He Wasn’t “Professional Enough”

We all saw the video, he’s officially on his ass.

federal agent who accidentally shot himself while lecturing children on gun safety lost his appeal Tuesday in a lawsuit over release of the video that subjected him to ridicule on the Internet and late-night talk shows.

Lee Paige sued his employer, the Drug Enforcement Administration, after video of the 2004 accident in Florida appeared in the news and went viral on the Internet. The video shows Paige shooting himself in the leg just as he displays his firearm and tells a gathering of about 50 youth and their parents, “I’m the only one in this room professional enough, that I know of, to carry this Glock 40.”

Paige claimed in his lawsuit that the DEA’s release of the video, taken by a parent attending the demonstration, invaded his privacy and ended his ability to work undercover or give motivational speeches. Paige, a former professional football player who worked at the DEA since 1990, said the release has also resulted in humiliating comments toward him and his family not only on television but at grocery stores and restaurants.

You got ridiculed because you were talking about gun safety and bragging about what hot shit you were, and weren’t cautious enough to keep the gun you were waiving around unloaded, and then besides breaking Jeff Cooper’s Rule #1, broke #2, and #3…and looking at your video, I suspect 4 never crossed your mind.

FOLLOW THE RULES! All the time, no exception.

RULE I: ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

RULE II: NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO DESTROY

RULE III: KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

RULE IV: BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET

ALL the time, weather you’re on the range, cleaning your guns, or on a DEA stakeout…and especially if you’re in a classroom filled with kids.

Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on your way out.

Something tells me that this idiot is so Dumb that he’ll Appeal the Appeal.

Of course, he can always partner with Canton, Ohio’s FORMER Finest Officer Harliss and set up “The ONLY ONE’S Firearms Training Academy.” ; )

  2. North says:

Rule #1 Glock 40s magically load themselves.

Rule #2 The muzzle should never cover anything that isn’t professional.

Rule #3 Damn my finger itches.

Rule #4 Be sure of your bleeding foot and everything beyond it.

    • Weerd Beard says:

He actually put the pill in his thigh, and allegedly just barely missed his femoral. Had he been a little over he probably would have bled out there in front of all those kids.

While i wouldn’t be too concerned about the loss of that idiot, I think the kids went through enough that day.

I’ve carried a Glock 19 for over 20 years and managed not to shoot myself. Accidents happen, but Paige is an arrogant douche bag.

    • Weerd Beard says:

Yeah his “Accident” was clearing his Glock, then inserting the loaded magazine while he gave his talk. He then dropped the slide, pointed the gun at his leg and then squeezed the trigger.

His idea of an “Accident” is I think everybody else’s idea of the Glock manual of arms.

i carry every day, and i never shot myself. does that mean i am more professional than he is?
