Bluesun sends me this oddity
Somebody remixed the Windows XP startup sound into a dubstep.
We both agree that we are both transfixed and horrified.
So there’s that!

It’s like the Rule 34 of music–if it exists, there is a dubstep remix…
wow. just wow
I want to make this the default starting sound for my parents’ computer just to watch them freak out.
OMG. bluesun is right.

This is what will be playing in Alan’s personal hell!!
It sounds more MaxHeadroom than BladeRunner, but WOW…
I couldn’t stop laughing. Maybe it’s because I worked in IT.
convert to .wav
rename to “Windows XP Startup.wav”
copy to “C:WINDOWSMedia” and replace existing file
reboot and be happy
(for best results do this to a friend’s computer. i did this once with http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HU2ftCitvyQ. this would have been better.)
Until I got tired of it, I had my computer booting up to the “I am a HAL 9000” speech from 2001. It just felt right, considering how confident the stupid machine is about messing with my day.
I had a computer where the error sound for a critical error was “I’m Sorry Dave, I’m Afraid I Can’t Do That”
Hahahahaha, so did I. And it would ask, “just what do you think you are doing, Dave?” whenever I used a USB port.
