Romney Screws Himself

To quote myself:

Romney may have all he needs to win now, so long as he doesn’t do something stupid…which for Romney will be VERY hard, because just like Barry-O Romney is a fucking idiot!

Didn’t take long:

Mitt Romney said today he believes new gun legislation is unnecessary and defended an assault-weapons ban he signed into law as Massachusetts governor…As Massachusetts governor in 2004, Romney signed into law an assault weapons ban that was backed by gun owners and gun control advocates. The Massachusetts law banned the AR-15, one of the weapons that police say was used inside the Colorado theater on Friday.

We all know that Romney and Obama are anti-gun big-government Nanny-Staters. Obama DOES have the distinction of sitting on the Joyce Foundation board of directors…of course Romney has actually banned guns in the past. I really don’t care who “Wins” the competition of who’s better or worse on guns, because America loses.

Sure his statements are ATTEMPTING to spin things on a pro-gun manner, but like the President, Romney has no interest in the 2nd Amendment or guns for any reason….so he comes off sounding like the idiot he is AND can’t help but toot his horn about how awesome his gun ban was for Massachusetts, gun owners, and the 2nd Amendment. Yeah, He’s the pro 2A “Assault Weapons” banner.

FUCK YOU!

Now I can’t grandstand much as I was voting for Gary Johnson anyway, still I will openly say that anybody who thinks that Romney will be better than Obama on liberty, gun rights, or Supreme Court justices, you are a hack and an idiot!

**UPDATE** You want to watch the bastard hang himself the video is here.

    Romney already screwed himself.

The only thing he can do about his signing gun control and socialized medicine bills as Governor is equivocate, or admit he was wrong.

A presidential candidate will never do the latter during an election.

Go ahead and vote for the wookiesuiter if it makes you happy … Obama is getting steamrollered in November.

    • Weerd Beard says:

He can’t even admit he was wrong now, because he just said how awesome and pro second Amendment his ban was. So even if he says its shit and he’ll make banning guns for cosmetic features federally illegal, he’ll just come off as documented liar, and we’ll be able to trust this campaign promise just as much as any others.

Nope he reached over to his chip pile and said “All In!”

    • Kristopher says:

      I just watched the video.

Yes, he admitted to Fuddism when he signed the Mass. AWB.

He then stated that we don’t currently need any more new laws.

That did not look like “all in” for gun control to me.

He did sign that bill into law. His position now is that more laws are not needed. You aren’t going to get him to commit seppuku over his past acts … the time for supporting a better Republican nominee passed when he won enough delegates to get the position.

Of course, you can do the I’ll hold my breath until you nominate a perfect wookiesuiter thing … good luck with that.

  2. Jack says:

*golfclaps* You know Romney, you didn’t have to parade around the AR-15 Ban. You could have just ended it on the “no more new laws lie”. But no you have to brag about how awsome an AWB is. Now you’re in the same stupid boat as Obama.

I’m reminded of this gem: “Mr. Reagan will raise taxes, and so will I. He won’t tell you. I just did.”

  3. James says:

Fuck you indeed. I’m with you, Weerd.

Remember just a little while ago all the praises Romney received when he spoke at the NRA convention? Remember Nugent coming out and endorsing Mitt for the pure sake of political expediency? He’s one of us!

Here we are, once again. Vote for shit #1 or shit #2. This voting for the lesser of evils is complete crap and has led us and will continue to lead us down the road of insolvency, loss of liberties, and further destruction of individualism. I have little hope for the future of this Republic; I just don’t know how long we have left. See you on the other side!

  4. Jack says:

Your vote at the ballot box won’t do this.

So vote with your time. Encourage people who have an interest to make the jump and buy that gun, and get that carry permit, and so on.

Increase the number of people that are armed, that are informed, and that carry. The more people that own these Evil Black Rifles, that CCW, the more they’ll know that our political masters are lying goobers and are coming after them.

At least that’s an advantage of Gun Culture 2.0. Demolishing the sport/hunting ruse.

    • Weerd Beard says:

What do you think this blog is? 8) You think I run the “Gun Death?” Files because I like reading stories of people stabbed or pushed out of windows?

Plus that is already happening. Obama AND Romney both want to ban “Assault Weapons” and magazines. Of course last weekend in the wake of the shooting the gun shops were FLOODED, and they’ll be flooded again this weekend, and this week they’re probably having a hard time serving everybody who comes in the door.

These are all people who won’t stand for that bullshit…still it doesn’t help when a Supreme Court Justice dies or retires, because either one will make sure they hate that pesky Second Amendment.

      • Jack says:

About the stabber and pusher robots? Nah but there are more than a few that are funny. Like the suicide via cable and SUV.
Not sure if there’s been a gun death duck yet…

And yeah, it’s easier to push the boulder downhill than it is up.

I acutally made an order I had been sitting on this morning because I figured the rush would only get worse in the next few months.

And sure, we’re pretty boned Re the SCOTUS, but it’s better to be boned the way we’re going, than if this were happening with the firearms culture/law/ownership of 20 years ago.

      • Pyrotek85 says:

I’m not even sure if Romney wants to ban guns so much as he thinks that’s the ‘correct’ thing to say after a mass shooting, which is nearly as bad (maybe worse in some ways).

  5. Archer says:

    Pro-2A but anti-“Assault Weapons”? Pro-2A but anti-carry? I think you mean: FUDD.

So they want to ban “Assault Weapons” because they belong in the hands of soldiers and not civilians? Quote time!

Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birth-right of an American…(T)he unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state governments, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people. — Tenche Coxe (emphasis added)

  6. Bubblehead Les says:

Easy Brother, easy. Still a ways to go to November. Personally, I’m crossing my fingers and hoping that the Senate can swap around, even if we have your stupid N.E. RINOS like Brown in there.

I must admit, it’d be kinda funny to actually see Barry get a Second Term w/o Harry and Nancy covering his Ass.

Of course, it would take some Balls to actually Indict and Impeach some of his Evil Minions like Holder and Sebelius for all their “Waivers” (can’t find that word in the Constitution, BTW) and “Rulings”, just to let the Anointed One know he’s just taking a Paycheck and has no Power to “Fundamentally Transform America” anymore…

  7. Linoge says:

    Screw Romney.

His history already removed the possibility that I would vote for him; his defense of that history simply ratcheted up the animosity.

It is sad that the biggest differences between two Presidential candidates is their skin tone.

  8. Kristopher says:

This country can survive a term of Romney.

I am not certain it can survive in any recognizable form another term of Obama.

Fortunately most folks recognize this, and will probably limit the damage.

    • Weerd Beard says:

Are you so sure? IMHO Obama just wants to be a rock star and a celebrity. He had a super majority in Congress and he squandered it….and took a lot of vacations and a lot trips to the Golf links. I have my doubts that Obama will even bother showing up for work when he doesn’t have to worry about his next election.

Meanwhile Romney is a guy who’s about pushing laws and expanding his resume. I’m concerned he’ll be yet another George W. Bush, pushing US military action, and expanding government power.

But even if you’re right about Romney being a poor, but better president, what next?

He’s going to run for re-election, and because Obama did win the presidency the Democrats will push another true believer “Progressive”, and just like Obama against this weak GOP challenger stands a good chance of losing the election, Romney will be having an uphill battle even if they unearth Al Gore to run against him.

Then what? If Romney serves one term, we’ll be back where we were in 2008 in 2020, and as Romney won an election they’ll be again reaching for another stuffed-shirt big-government anti-freedom “Moderate”.

I see this as a Chess game, and I think replacing Obama with Romney is not only reckless because of his record and beliefs, but its also slapping a band-aid on a gangrenous wound.

      • Jack says:

The problem is that not replacing Obama is just letting the gangrenous wound fester.

To be contrary. Let’s assume that Obama wins. Again, Obama won twice. The Dems would go for another ‘another true believer “Progressive” ‘, because hey it worked… or it at least got their guy in office.

As for the Republicans…. they took to a loss running with McCain and went with Romney… so yeah they’d go right back for ‘another stuffed-shirt big-government anti freedom “Moderate”.’

Now note this isn’t an endorsment of Romney nor a recommendation to vote for him in any way shape or form.

The way I see it, no matter who wins now, the same forces that want the elections to be ‘true believer “Progressive” ‘ versus ‘stuffed-shirt big-government anti freedom “Moderate” ‘ will remain the same.

      • Kristopher says:

Beats rubbing excrement into the wound, Weerd.

We are going to win this. It will take time.
