As Sure As The Sun Rises In The East…

…Reasoned Discourse will break out when a blogger starts parroting Anti-Gun Talking Points!

Tam links to a goober who “Supports the Second Amendment”, but thinks lawful gun owners should pay for the mayhem caused by criminals breaking the law.

Of course he’s been scrubbing comments as fast as they are coming in. No idea how big that number is, but Tam drives some serious traffic. Interestingly there was this comment at Tam’s

he said that, indeed. A commenter opined:

“Are you responsible, should a thief steal your car and run over a pedestrian?”

His response, copy pasted:

“Guns are inherently dangerous, Dan. Cars are not.”

“he said that, indeed.”

What was he doing all those years in school?

I wonder how much insurance that thimble-headed gherkin carries on his steak knives. You know, in case those inherently dangerous objects get stolen and he’s responsible for someone getting shivved in the liver.

What a lackwit.

Its a VERY interesting point. Sure criminals shoot themselves with guns at a pretty good rate…still a very non-trivial amount of people are outright murdered with knives…a tool we ALL have around our kitchens and dining rooms, not to mention utility knives we all keep around.

Using his logic, shouldn’t we all have to pay for that as well?

Of course not, guns are different because he doesn’t OWN any guns! Guns are items owned by the mythical “Other”…you know, those inhuman brutes!

Its amazing that people will be 100% willing to spout Michael Bloomberg’s religious doctrine, yet have zero willingness to discuss it with anybody who might not agree with them.

10 Intentional self-harm (suicide): 38,364 ( about half of these- 19,392 – were by firearms, but being suicide, wouldn’t they just use pills or tall buildings if firearms were unavailable?)
