This is a good one!
Besides cephalapods for being so bright and advanced, yet still being invertebrate mollusks, I’m impressed by Starfish and how “intelligent” they can appear without having a brain. Now Starfish are hardly “Smart”, I’m just impressed at how many faculties a class of animals can have without having a single brain among them.
If you’re into brainless/smart oceanic squishys, you owe it to yourself to harvest a few sea cucumbers for the skillet.
For me, like many, once is enough.
Yeah a Japanese college tried to convince me to pickle one of the sea cucumbers in one of the specimen tanks in rice wine vinegar for some traditional Japanese dish.
I ate a LOT of strange things…that was NOT one of them.
