Pants on Fire!

Is Joan Peterson a liar, or just crazy?

As I said, I generally think of myself as a Second Amendment supporter, and a month ago, I would’ve probably agreed with the NRA’s position. But the Newtown shooting caused me to re-examine my stance—as is, I think, fitting—and to question some of the rhetoric advocates use to defend weapons like this.

“Second Amendment Supporter”? “re-examine my stance”?

Can anybody point out ANY evedence that Joan has changed ANY of her positions after last December? She’s always been against semi-auto firearms, and failed to EVER claim that ANY firearms were OK for law-abiding citizens to own. Further she has conflated “Assault Weapons” with the murder of her sister who was NOT killed with a semi-auto firearm.

She’s always been against lawful carry and self defense. Further she has conflated the murder of her sister with concealed carry laws, despite concealed carry being illegal at the time of her sister’s murder.

Most likely Joan is simply lying to make herself appear more moderate, but honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if she thought she was telling the truth when she typed that simply because of mental illness.

What do you think?

We’ve known she’s been crazy for years so I would go w/ ‘Both’.

So Joan “first Voted Against it before she Voted For It”?

  3. I think she was trying to quote from another article and screwed it up. I had her pretty flustered by this point…

I’ll go with “Crazy, delusional, and Liar” for $400, Alex.

    “Who is Japete?”

    I need her full name.

    “Who is Joan Peterson?”

While Joan and the truth are not only not friends but have never been introduced in this instance she is quoting from an article.

You don’t have to have any knowledge or credibility to be quoted by Joan, you just have to say something that she agrees with. Look at some of her quotes recently. “The janitor at a church I visited recently told me that his brother who is an avid hunter and member of the NRA said that you can’t hunt with an assault weapon because deer are much tougher than humans. According to the brother the only thing you can do with an AR-15 is shoot nuns and orphans. He also said that everyone in the NRA supports universal background checks and “reasonable gun laws” but they are afraid if they complain or quit paying their dues Wayne LaPierre will send Ted Nugent to kill their wives and familes.”

…and Ted Nugent would do it by spraying machine gun fire from a helicopter. Just kidding, he has hunted hogs that way, so I had to allude to it.

No, I tried engaging Joan Peterson on her blog about a year or so ago, when I was tender and new to the gun control argument world. She helped toughen me up and now I say no compromise to these freedom-crushing and reality-challenged extremists. She won’t be there to protect me or my family when a home invasion occurs so she has zero moral authority to dictate to me by what means I defend them. Their starting point in their whole agenda is disarming me, the good guy. Ridiculous. My firearm ownership and possible defensive use is none of her damn business.

      • Cargosquid says:

Heck…. she’ll blame you for being a hard, cold hearted killer, that purposely shot that poor, misguided criminal that broke in to assault our family. He’ll just be another “gun murder” victim.

If you have the misfortune to be killed by a criminal by any other means that firearm, they couldn’t care less.
