Lake Walk

Should have lifted weights today, but I’m still running a little slow from yesterday’s fever, and the weather was PERFECT so I went for a walk around the lake. Brought the good camera along hoping I could get shots of the baby geese, but it appears the town already gathered them up. Pretty fast work given that I first saw them on Monday.

Still I got some pix.

Would have walked right by this guy until he started calling.

There were a lot of racket-makers.
This Killdeer was doing his full display.

Didn’t get any great shots of him.

There was this duck having a snack.

Then HE started quacking at me!

Speaking of Eating, got several shots of this guy for the SQUIRREL REPORT!

And we has CARP!

Saw a pile of them feeding on the surface, but I couldn’t get a shot of them that looked like anything. Never seen them do that. Just saw a bunch of black dots on the surface, then you’d see the white of their mouths gulping stuff at the surface, and they were all piled together. NEAT!

Last, there’s an old Cemetery on the lake. The stones in this section are from the late 1700s and early 1800s, and this stone is now INSIDE a maple tree

So no baby geese, but fun afternoon!

Ahh the menagerie of Dr. Prof Weerdington von Beard

Heh, you make it sound like you were quacking at the duck first “Then HE started quacking at me!”
