This is just part of a big despicable plan!
In a move that puts new meaning to the term battleground, President Obama’s re-election campaign and members of some military groups are on a collision course over voting rights in the critical state of Ohio.
The Obama campaign and the Democratic National Committee have filed a lawsuit to block a new state law allowing men and women in uniform to vote up until the Monday right before an election, while the cutoff on early voting for the rest of the public is three days earlier.
Unlike the rest of the public active military doesn’t have things we take for granted like “days off”, this law makes perfect sense. While the military is hardly a political monoculture, being in harm’s way does add it bit of urgency to politics many of us don’t understand, and I suspect left-leaning service members aren’t too happy about how “Anti-War” President Obama has handled things.
Couple this with the Left’s fight against voter ID allowing illegals, criminals, those not eligible to vote, and people voting in different districts, states, and multiple times, I think you can see which way the wind is blowing….
A few more details. What the State House did was not EXTEND the Voting Deadline for the Military, but REDUCE it for the Civilians. They know how bad the Mail can be, so they wanted all the Absentee Ballots from the Civilians in by Friday, so the local Board of Elections could have them ready to go come Election Day. But since they know how bad the Military Mail system can be, they allowed them to keep the 2 extra days, just so the Troops don’t get Screwed out of Voting. My Wife and I have been Voting Absentee for the last several years. In our County, on Election Day, as soon as the Polls open, the Board starts counting the Absentee Ballots FIRST. Then they handle the Provisional Voters as the day goes on, along with the Shut-in/Nursing Home Votes. (In Ohio, if you’re Too Old or in the Hospital, etc, it’s State Law for an Election Rep with a Sheriff as Guard to come to your Home and take your Vote).
All this is done so that, when the Polls close that evening, all the Board has to do is to count the Tally from all the regular Voting Places. It’s all about Efficiency.
What it sounds like to me is that since the Dems no longer have a Secretary of State in Ohio who would allow 250,000+ ACORN Registered Votes to hit the Ballot Box anymore, like what happened in 2008, they were planning on doing a Big Dump on Monday, and are Whining because they can’t stuff the Ballot Box.
