One of the running gags in the great film Noir Payback, is that Porter was shot in the back over $70,000, and he points out that that is what his life was worth to those who double-crossed him.
Without spoiling the film, he goes through hell for $70,000, and many are shocked that it would be worth the trouble. $5 seems to REALLY be silly.
Harry Lee Brown was left with nothing but the loose change scattered next to him as he lay dying on a sidewalk in north Minneapolis, his pockets turned inside out and blood running from his head.
The 50-year-old homeless man died Sunday, more than a week after a man and a teenager allegedly punched him and beat him with a baseball bat before taking $5.
Five bucks in CHANGE, and some monster beat him to DEATH for it. Those who use the metric of “Gun Death” are monsters as well!

A “Sawbuck” is a 10 dollar bill. A Five dollar bill is a “Fin.”

Crap, well there goes my old-timey street cred!
“This little piggy went to market…”
That is one of few scenes in any movie that makes me cringe every time I see it.
… Think I’ll watch it again!
😀
The double entendre delivered by the amazing Kris Kristofferson of “Its beginning to look like roast beef!” is one of those great blood-chilling lines.
His song writing has seemed to suffer a good deal since he quit all the drugs, but BOY he’s done some great acting in the last few decades!
