How do you add trifectcas? Is it additive? That would make this post a sexfecta! Or is multiplicative? That would be a Nonecta!
Either way they’re good!
I’m really glad I took the extra time to swing by the Harvard News Stand to see that pile of Newsweeks waiting to never be sold.
Then there’s this:
Now first to come to a VERY brief defense of Aikin. I suspect what he was citing was doctors noting that there are certain things that increase female fertility. Without getting too pornographic, if a woman is aroused and ready for sex the vaginal interface is both wet and of a good pH for sperm transmission, and the longer that sperm stays within her the better chance of conception.
Essentially Aikin was doing what all politicians do: Talk to experts about things they know nothing about, and then badly repeat what they hear with a political spin.
Still again he’s dead wrong. I think we all know a female or two who were able to conceive with relative ease, or people who had unwanted or unplanned pregnancy. I know several women who were raped (I wish I knew none), but as far as I know none of them were impregnated, tho some of them may have had prophylactic medicines administered after the crime. Also rape pregnancies are fairly rare, and that MIGHT have been a better angle for Aikin.
Still in the end, he stepped on his dick and made a HUGE stink. Every damn conservative on the planet agrees with that and have asked him to step down and find something better to do with his time than lose an election, which is assured at this point. He’s said “NO I’MMA GONNA RUN!!11!!”, which shows that he’s just as arrogant as he is stupid, and he has armfuls of both.
And the Media is going to bury any Republican admonishments so they can claim we’re all as tin-eared on rape as he is. LAME!

“The question now is, what will the Newsweek editors put their heads up now?”
I laughed, and I laughed…
In another VERY brief defense of Akin (or more correctly, the medical professional who advised him), it has been documented that the female body, when in a high-stress situation, will recognize that it might not be the best time to conceive and take measures to reduce its fertility. Couple that with conception only being possible when sperm-meets-egg, and that only happening for about one week per month, and yes, it’s possible to misinterpret this into thinking that rape victims – being under very high-stress and (assuming a random attack) probably not at the “right time of the month” – don’t get pregnant very often. On the abortion issue, he’s an idealist, and (as we know very well from the antis) idealists interpret facts in ways that support their arguments, not necessarily reality.
My biggest gripe is the “legitimate rape” comment. It implies that if someone does become pregnant, than they weren’t really assaulted. It happens, and it’s not Akin’s place to decide which cases are “legitimate” and which aren’t, and he needs to butt the hell out.
IMHO, he had a Biden moment and gaffed. Big-time. But I tend to agree with him on pretty much every other point he stands for, and I’d hate to see a strong-looking candidate on 95% of the issues be thrown aside for someone who’s wishy-washy on 100%, just because the strong candidate misinterpreted information and gaffed.
Just my $0.0259 (adjusted for inflation).
I’m 100% with you! I’ll pro-rate your 2.59c to a solid two-bits!
