So we all know Brady Board Member Joan Peterson blogs under Jepete in a blog that is just what you would expect from the forces of Pro-Ignorance, anti-freedom. I also just found a blog for Heidi Yewman who is also a board member and leader of other anti-freedom groups. (Poison Link Here)
Of course her latest, and 2nd newest posts are almost a year apart, she seems to have as much motivation of formally Joyce Funded Pro-Ignorance Blog “gun Guys” who were pretty vibrant at posting when the checks were clearing from the Joyce Foundation, but now they have a hard time penning a post every month.
Ms. Yewman does appear to allow comments, but I haven’t posted any because the blog is barely even a blog.
Still what I found amusing was that I found this page by accident, and it took me a little bit to find the page Author’s name (despite her openly wearing a Million Mom March garb, and being on a book tour, the page doesn’t even attempt to sell said book). And I attempted to find a few other personal blogs for Brady members, but couldn’t with any ease.
Meanwhile the NRA has a blog, and it not only allows comments, and is open about its affiliation, but there are countless personal blogs out there where people openly point out that they’re NRA members, and even have sidebar links to Join the NRA. I’m pretty open about being an NRA life member, and I talk a lot about my time at the NRA convention, and can’t wait until next year where the convention will be closer and in a more gun-friendly venue of Pittsburgh!.
Not only are there only a handful of blogs that even bother talking about gun control, but the ones that are affiliated with anti-gun groups like the Joyce Foundation, or the Brady Campaign, they do it in near secrecy!
It certainly does look like we’re winning the hearts and minds of America!
(Not to mention that groups like the NRA, GOA, JPFO, Pink Pistols, Second Amendment Sisters, and the Second Amendment Foundation all have paid members, so a current membership roster exists for all of these pro-gun groups, and if you decide to join one of them you can do it TODAY. Meanwhile there is no way to be a member of the Brady Campaign, or the Violence Policy center, unless you hold a staff position, only ways you can donate money)

I tried leaving a comment at Jepete’s blog. It was a benign comment, with a pro-gun slant to it. Definitely nothing that would offend anyone. It did not make the cut. It is obvious to me that Jepete is being very selective in choosing which comments to publish in order to shape the “discussion” to the way she wants it. That is all that I need to know about her and her intentions. It’s funny how no one on their side really wants to discuss anything despite claims otherwise.
I dunno about “Funny” I would say “Sad” and “predictable” Just look at the factual inaccuracies in today’s Quote of the Day. To drop such a load of crap you either need to swallow your pride or bury your head in the sand.
And then you have behavior like this exchange with Bob
http://www.commongunsense.com/2010/09/fun-funny-and-not-so-funny.html#comments
She claims “Guns do just go off” Bob calls Bravo Sierra….she then claims that she has stories of guns “just going off” on her blog and leaves Bob to search for it. Bob DOES, and finds people handling guns poorly and pulling triggers when they shouldn’t. She then claims that there are OTHER stories she blogged about, but again leaves no link.
Or Hell, her claim that its false that anti-gun blogs screen and limit comments. She either believes you can alter reality by enthusiastically claiming it…or thinks we’re dumb enough to take her word.
So with all that behavior, its not out of question that she would open her arms to debate, and shun everybody who attempts to take her up on it.
So far I’ve had several comments published, none rejected. I’m kind of guessing my last one won’t be though–I remained polite, but asked flat out if she was a Brady Campaign board member, or otherwise associated.
And look where it got you?
I must say, Seve, your delicate touch does seem to keep feathers from being ruffled, but I have yet to see any results for it.
Bigots are bigots, it doesn’t matter how nice you are to them, they don’t change because of outside influence.
You know, I really feel kinda bad for these two women. They’re being used by The Brady Campaign & scoundrels like Helmke & Hamm.
I’m not sexist. They’re grown women, and of likely sound mind and body, There’s something in it for them as well as for the anti-rights whores Helmke and Hamm.
No, I mean they’re being used because of the emotional fragility from what they’ve lost, not because they’re women.
That doesn’t make me respect them anymore. Joan Peterson is still a bigot who deserves no respect from me. I’ll be happy when the BS she spews on her blog means she’s ostracized the way a KKK member would be these days.
I don’t expect to change the mind of the anti-gun blog authors–I’m writing for any of their audience that might still be on the fence. I believe that cool, calm reasonableness coupled with careful dedication to facts is the most likely way to change minds.
Interesting that her answer was that she is a member of a local Brady chapter (I didn’t know there was such a thing…) but refuses to actually deny that she is a board member or similar, and is all paranoid about why we want to know.
She’s a shill, and gets compensated to ignore reality
