Presidential Bombshells

Wow these two stories are really impressive.

First up, you know how I feel about Obama, but damn I gotta give him credit where it is due.

That’s a pretty killer buzzword. Of course the “Anti-War” President who was going to close the Gitmo Prison, could get cut by this double-edged sword…I still think the Romney campaign is too stupid to beat it.

And on the other side is this:

Can’t find what I just heard in a radio interview, but Rand Paul is attempting to get the Ron Paul people to support Romney because Johnson has zero chances of winning, and Romney is closer to Ron and Rand Paul’s ideals than Obama. He’s got a great point.

Of course it doesn’t sway my support for Governor Johnson, because A) I live in Massachusetts, so its not like my vote is doing shit here, B) I know Mitt Romney, and he’s a leader and will get things done. I also know that Obama won’t have a ultra “Progressive” 2nd Term, because to do that sort of action, he’ll need to show leadership, and I just don’t think he has that ability. I’ll take an ineffectual and hated President whom is against me, over a RINO President who will pass laws and rally the Legislature that might not be in my best interest.

Also another thing to consider is that Obama might be more dangerous as a private citizen than as a President. He was a BOMBSHELL on the campaign trail of ’08, and he’s not a guy who will quietly retire if he still has a chance to jet-set around the country and make speeches for adoring fans. In the midterm election to Combat an Obama endorsement, a candidate will need Romney’s help (and with Romney as President he WILL be the RNC), and candidates who are more like Rand Paul might need to moderate their message to get his full support.

As for the Supreme Court, if Romney wins I’d bet my lunch money one or more of the Heller 5 will retire, and I am NOT willing to bet that he’ll pick somebody BETTER than them. Meanwhile if Obama wins the Heller 5 will hold their water and wait until the next term to step down. Also while Elana Kagen and Sonia Sotomayor are horrible, are they REALLY worse then the Commie goons they replaced?

I still fear President Romney more than I fear President Obama.

Seems a bit later to go with that zinger. Though it’s better than waving around a trapper keeper like slow Joe.

I’m a bit less consoled by Obama being lazy because his minions aren’t. They’ll happily enact all sorts of progressive schemes knowing that if they get found out both the media and the President will cover for them.

Just look at Fast and Furious.

That said, rules and controls pushed by executive fiat are easier to reverse than ones that actually go through the legislative process.

The SCOTUS is a grim accounting no matter how you look at it. As the Republican presidents have a lousy record and the Democrats have a stellar one.

You do raise the point that without the responsibilities of being in office Obama will have a freer hand, and will be more popular. He always runs on unicorn dreams so it does benefit him to have an incumbent to decry.

With him out of office is endorsements might actually have a use. Since right now he’s toxic enough that many Dems are pretending to be against him.

First, I want to get rid of the guy that has the personality cult- and is more than willing to use it. Rule by people with a cult of personality tends to wind up with them putting people into gulags, and I don’t want that.
And no one has accused Mitt of having either a cult or a personality.

Second, while both may have some statist tendencies, Mitt doesn’t hate the Constitution in the same way Obama does.

Third, Barry get to not only appoint SCOTUS people, but they get to pick the heads of the different departments in the exec branch… who in turn pick the people under them, ect. THIS is a big cause of the malignant growth of government, and the PC’ing of the same.

Finally, if one is hoping for a total collapse because you think people with Libertarian views will rebuild something better from the ashes, you’re delusional. Check your history- it doesn’t work that way. See also the fall of the English, Austrio-Hungarian, Ottoman, German, French (Napoleon III), and Soviet empires for more recent examples of what actually happens when governments fall apart.

Ditto with Joe and Jack. A couple of things to remember. Barry doesn’t NEED to be a Leader. His Management “Style” is one where he is in Charge of a System that just takes Orders. Also, he allows his Minions to do all the Heavy Lifting, while his Hands stay Clean. Think of Libyan Security. Who’s getting most of the Heat? Not Barry, it’s coming down on Hillary and Susan Rice. He’s not comfortable with coming up with new Legislation. That’s what Nancy and Harry are there to do. Think of “Delegated Authority.” He doesn’t DO “Negotiation.” He does Edicts.

So here’s a guy who just issues orders, lets Bad Legislation get passed to support the Cause. And if it doesn’t come through, he just ignores the Law and Constitution and tells his minions to move ahead. Think of the “Dream Act,” which the Immigration Bureaucracy is now enforcing, even thought it could NEVER pass through Congress.

Also, there’s enough Liberal Judges out there appointed by Carter and Clinton that, even if a State passes a Law, they declare it “Unconstitutional, ” even if the Supreme Court already Ruled that it’s Okay. Think of Voter ID, which was settled back in ’08 in Indiana.

As for SCOTUS, why are concerned about Retirement? How about a Heart Attack or Stroke? Then what?

I’ll give Barry this. He’s found a way to “Compartmentalize” and “Delegate Authority” that I can’t ever recall being done in American Political History. And at least to the “47%,” he comes out smelling like a Rose. And there’s enough “Independent Idiots” out there who could Vote for him, because it’s easier than thinking about the Consequences of their Voting Actions.

And the rest of us can go to Hell.

This. I’ve been trying to point this out every chance I get.

I’d rather gamble that the Heller 5 will stay alive (through sheer stubbornness, if nothing else) for another four years than gamble that Romney will make a pick we can live with. Heck, I expect that if one of them does die, he’ll come back as a zombie just so he can shamble up to the bench and deny Obama the chance to replace him.

Romney will get to replace one of the Heller 5. Obama might get to replace one of the Heller 5. And I have zero confidence that a Romney pick will be any better than an Obama pick.
