I don’t follow sports, and that makes stories like this really hard to understand.
The Red Sox-Yankees rivalry has always been heated, but during Saturday night’s game, it turned violent inside The Chowder Pot III Restaurant in Branford.
A New York Yankees fan is accused of stabbing a Boston Red Sox fan in the neck.
Yikes, was it the anti-gun people who said if we relaxed conceal carry restrictions people would get in gunfights over parking spaces and other minor encounters.
Patrons of the restaurant said blood was all over the floor.
Police said the two men did not know each other and their beef was solely over baseball.
Blood in the streets indeed…
Freire was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital, where he was is listed in critical condition on Sunday.
I hope he makes a full recovery, and I will note that I do not see his injuries as irrelevant as those who trumpet the metric of “Gun Death” do.

I love the “gun death” category, it makes the point wonderfully. Keep it up!
On a similar note, I’ve started a new category about college campus violence that the anti’s also don’t care about unless a gun is involved and someone is killed. Four posts in two weeks, and one covers four separate incidents. Of those nine incidents, four definitely involved a gun (all by the same group of criminals) and one might have. But no one was killed, so they don’t care about those. They care even less about the other incidents that didn’t involve guns. The latest one involved a guy being attacked by four men, and being hospitalized for 2-3 days by a single punch. Luckily, he was able to run away.
Of course, these incidents also contradict the narrative about how schools are somehow protected by being “sacrosanct” institutions of learning so nobody “needs” guns in schools, and allowing them somehow invites another massacre like what happened here at VT. So they really want the stories to go away.
Ooh Nice category! Yeah running collections like this can make a VERY pointed argument. Another good idea might be “Violent Crime in a “Good Neighborhood” or something like that, but I have no idea how you’d easily fish for that. if I find anything useful for your cause I’ll send it your way. Please do the same for me.
Here’s one we can both use.
