An all-out brawl. But no guns were used:
Martin was apparently nearby and saw Atkinson arrive at his girlfriend’s home, investigator Charlie Gray testified this morning, citing witness interviews. An axe handle-wielding Martin confronted Atkinson, who walked back to his car.
Gray said Martin followed him and apparently hit Atkinson with the club. Atkinson absorbed the blow then rushed Martin. As they scuffled Martin yelled for help and King, who lived nearby, rushed out and joined the fray.
King got on Atkinson’s back, while Atkinson was on the ground and choked him for two to three minutes, Gray said, citing King’s police interview. The two men then left and Atkinson was transported to Huntsville Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
This is the Utopia that the “Gun Death” Zealots want for us all. Sounds “Peaceful” doesn’t it?
