We got to the polls RIGHT when they opened (as in as we were walking to the end of the line they unlocked the doors and started letting people in), the line went around the building, inside the polls were more crowded than I’d ever seen, and there was still a line going out of the building. This is hands down one of the biggest turnouts I’ve seen in my town, and probably one of the biggest turnouts I’ve EVER seen. Can’t wait to see the results!
In other news, while driving past Harvard University I saw a beer truck that had somehow managed to dump its contents onto the road. The truck cab looked fine, and the truck was on all four wheels, but the box in back was all torn up, and there was close to a dozen cops out there cleaning up glass and skunky beer. I could smell the beer for close to a mile. I’ll keep my eyes on the paper to see if I can get a story about it.
I’m feeling charged!

That’s why I’m halfway dreading going to the polls today. (and another reason I go right after work)
I’m too tired to get up and going in the cold earlier than I absolutely must to get to work. Waiting in line with a bunch of tundra wookies, yeah I live in an area ripe with a bunch of liberals who are irritating to stand around and all seem to want to converse while waiting in line, isn’t my favorite thing to do. If it was in the morning their little blond dreadlocked heads might just roll.
It counts just as much if you get to the polls in morning or afternoon. 🙂
Since it’s probably illegal to wear political garb at the polling place, wear a coyote pelt!
Why stop with Coyote? I’d take one of the wolves if I had finished making it wearable! 🙂
Naah, I’m just going over directly after work so I’ll be wearing my UAF Facilities Services shirt.
Yep, tonight IS going to be interesting… I may be calling in sick in the morning depending on what time I go to bed…
Yeah, I suspect its gonna be a late night.
I am up for a late evening. Recently, there has been a lack of moments to savor…
Heavy turnout at my local poll, folks arriving as early as 6AM, and no parking available since 8.
6:30 pm, back at the polls. 1/4 mile line down the street of cars waiting to vote.
Here is hoping for some change…
And knowing nothing will.
Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. Or as the Blues say in Red VS. Blue:
Church: “I knew this plan wouldn’t work.”
Tucker: “We all knew this plan wouldn’t work. None of our plans ever work.”
Caboose “That’s why we carry guns.”
Election 2010, anyone? I keep bouncing between hopefulness and depression…
I LOVE RvB!!!
I once spent three days’ worth of free time watching the whole original series on Youtube. Hours at a time.
