I like to point out that there are some jobs that don’t get a fair shake on how dangerous they are. Food Delivery Driver, and Real estate agent are two of them. Their job essentially involves being lured to an ambush location with a car, and in the case of the driver food and cash, in the case of the agent, a glossy photo of what they look like. (Not that most of the Real Estate ambushes, sexual assault in involved) I’d say landlord can count too.
Waiting for Jenkins on the morning of Oct. 17 were Gary D. Lee, 19, and his sister, Monique D. Lee, 27.
Prosecutor Nissa Jones said Monique Lee — who lived in the building and was being evicted by Jenkins — hit Jenkins in the head, then strangled her with a cord while Gary Lee held her legs down.
The siblings kept Jenkins’ body in the building at 4503 N. 40th St. for several days before disposing of it at an abandoned house across the street. The body was found Oct. 23.
Lured to to a vacant apartment unit, and murdered with nothing more vicious than a cord. Yep, not a “Gun Death” at all. If you are EVER going to be meeting strange people at a strange address, and they know you’ll have money and a car, or going to what you both know is a vacant building, CARRY A GUN, and be wary of your surroundings, and be prepared to use it.
Hell even when I delivery people or technicians over to the house I am never unarmed at any time.
And you wonder why proponents of gun control refuse to talk about violence and murder in raw numbers in exchange for made-up metrics “Gun death” and “Gun Crime”.

Good points Weerd, and yeah, knowing whom is coming to the door does not necessarily equate to your being safe…
