Quote of the Day 2x

First is a comment by Jim S. over at Say Uncle’s on the discusson of a publication of Huckleberry Finn with the word “Nigger” Omitted.

Well maybe they could just change it to “nigga” Because when it doesn’t have the “r” on the end, it is often used as an empowering term. So when he says “Nigga Jim” that just means he is his friend!

I mean in the moder street sense, Huck and Jim were indeed “Niggaz”. On a serious note the fact that Jim was a slave and always referred to as “Nigger”, even by his friend Huck really speaks volumes on slavery and how blacks were not seen as humans. The fact that people want to expunge this is almost like they want slavery and social inequity not to have existed….which is kind of a drum the leftists beat too much as is.

Next quote is from mikee over at Joe’s

When someone argues in bad faith, the reason is perhaps interesting but unimportant. When someone continuously propounds ideas that are bigoted, irrational, not factually based, and anti-human rights, the reason they do so is perhaps interesting but again unimportant. What is important is that the rest of the audience should be informed clearly that the person is arguing in bad faith, lying, presenting misinformation, making an argument against human rights, and is generally a person who should be argued against until defeated on the field of ideas and, especially, defeated on the field of action in the real world.

Well Said!
