Come on Bob, give her a CHANCE!

So Joan Peterson is pimping another Brady Campaign front-group God Not Guns. (Kinda funny how these anti-rights bloggers seem to always seem to have connections to the Brady Campaign, and the Joyce Foundation, and seem to only reference other groups under that same umbrella)

Well Bob comes in and gives her quite the kicking.

First she comments how he’s commenting in the open and not unnamed anymore, and she admits she was deleting his comments simply because she KNEW they came from him, but reasonable comments who she didn’t know who they came from were published.

Then Bob does what he does best, which is quote the bible to show that God does indeed support self defense.

Also the 2nd Half of Eric Shelton’s latest handgun podcast touches on this very issue.

Go over there, but if you have any sympathy for Bigot and Brady Puppet Joan Peterson, you might want to avert your eyes. ๐Ÿ™‚

Well done, Bob!

    Aww shucks, I’m blushing.

  2. Of course they only reference each other. Cults are like that.

I’m struggling to even post over there under anonymous. It frustrates me to end. She is so quick to pull a single comment out of a paragraph and declare nonsense. She is so quick to misunderstand anything and ask people not to post for things she considers horrid to discuss (see the latest MJK and KKK post). I am no longer going to waste time to carefully craft something for her to dismiss. When she dismisses someone as polite and clear as Sevesteen, who is way more civil and patient than we are, I have to give up. I will continue to post her obvious misteps to act as a barrier on “teh stupid”, but I don’t see me commenting over there any time soon.

Sean – you are about as equally patient.

I generally dislike commenting anonymously, but some times the message must go through. She has published ONE of my comments under my name since she said she would publish me no more because I had the audacity of addressing her as “Hon”, and that was as an example of how “Unreasonable” I am. I don’t think she did herself any favors with that.

That being said I do have an anonymous comment up on the MLK post because the message is vastly more important than my name.

The problem is that I don’t even know where to start with her. She doesn’t make any reasonable assertions. She doesn’t respond to any reasonable discussion. Honestly, I think it is a waste of time.

I know where to start, anything that damages her, or her bigoted agenda.

          Patrick,

Part is choosing your moments like I did in her religion post. I doubt it made any difference in the long term but shredding her argument — politely as I did then and have been in my anonymous comments — is a good start.

The seed may fall on rocky ground or it may fall on fallow ground (to borrow another scripture) but we need to sow it anyways.

Also, remember we don’t just write for her but all the people who read her. The job of the antis is easier, oh so much easier, when as Weerd says people do nothing.
Write for other people who won’t stop and read your blog because they don’t want to find anything that counters their perception.

Write to let her show her true colors. I did that when I asked when she would stop pushing for ever more restrictive laws – her answer of zero firearm related murders shows she is unreasonable and unwilling to compromise.

Use her unreasonableness against her, let her words paint the picture of someone unwilling to give up an inch, unwilling to compromise. Those words show how much she is lying when she claims to want to find common ground or have thoughtful discussion.

          • Weerd Beard says:

I think that religion post is vastly the most damaging one to her and the Brady Campaign yet, in large part because she essentially got cornered supporting a group that obviously is twisting the bible for political gain in a post where she claims the NRA is twisting the bible, but has no proof. But also in that she openly admits she hasn’t approved comments under your name because she doesn’t like you.
