So I just read a story about a California Janitor who shot his principal after being fired.
So not all the facts are in yet, but let’s go through what we know. A Janitor was fired, and he went home. There in his home was a gun. If it was a handgun it must have been a California legal handgun, or it was an older gun, or a gun illegally purchased. Either this guy was complying with the law and the handgun was locked and unloaded, or he was improperly storing it. He then gathered up guns and ammo and left his home. Sacramento is one of those places in California where a handgun carry permit is very difficult to get. I suspect a janitor would be unable to acquire one.
So he either broke the law and loaded and concealed the gun, or he complied with the law and openly carried it unloaded. He then got to school grounds and broke the law by entering the property with a firearm. He then confronted the Principal and pointed a loaded gun at him. This is criminal assault and a felony in damn-near everywhere. He then fired a single shot into the Principal’s chest, this is attempted murder. The Principal later died at the hospital, at which point the assault becomes murder.
Now California is the Brady Campaign #1 ranked state. It has some of the most oppressive gun control laws in the country. Now according to the anti-rights freak the fact that this jerk committed murder on school grounds is some sort of a “Loophole” because somehow law actually STOP crime. Of course they can’t believe that crap, because they don’t seem to think the nation-wide crime on assault, threat with a deadly weapon, and murder should be enough.
Still a man is dead in California, and he was killed in a gun-free zone in a city that has virtually banned handgun carry, and in a state that requires handguns to be approved for “safety”.
Can somebody tell me what other laws would have stopped this from happening?
I’ll say one thing. The janitor went home and then came back to school. Do you think he would have done that if he had known that several teachers and other custodial staff routinely carry firearms for their protection, and the protection of those around them?
Now I won’t claim guns are magical talismans conveying invincibility to its owners. But if the principal had been armed he could have shot this asshole BEFORE an innocent life was taken.
Then again maybe he couldn’t. But even if he couldn’t can anybody tell me how the Principal would be WORSE off if he had had a gun today?

Could anyone tell me how a ‘gun control’ law is going to stop someone when the law against murder didn’t/wouldn’t?
Guncontrol harasses the political opposition, so mission accomplished. Safety and crime reduction? Things need to be unsafe and dangerous so the politically loyal tax feeders have something to point to besides their payroll numbers.
I disagree, the point is to harass the opposition and make gun ownership and exercising the 2nd Amendment such a bother that people won’t do it. Then is becomes a War of Attrition, where once the old generation who remembers freedom dies off, the antis can have free reign.
Given that even Massachusetts growing in numbers of gun owners and shooters, their mission has failed, and their opposition will only ensure that the pro-rights crowd will not give an inch!
